Own a piece of automotive history! Your chance to bid on a 1981 VW Rabbit, Diesel. It's a great little car that needs some work. Here are the flaws: Rust spots Missing head liner Right rear fender needs body work due to recent fender-bender Emergency break handle needs to be fixed Temperature gauge and fuel gauge not working- instrument cluster connector needs to be rewired Ignition switch doesn't always work- there's a push-button start under the dash. We consider this our security feature. Driver's side rear door doesn't open. It's also missing the inside handle The rear windows are missing crank handles. We have one- it floats between the two. Here's what we've done and what works: New battery Rebuilt alternator (You'll see a volt meter just below the dash- this was installed during the time when the alternator wasn't working) The engine works and works well. I'll email a video of the engine starting/running upon request. Brakes are good Tires are good and, included, a FREE set of 3 snow tires, plus one extra all-season! Replaced rear shocks in 2013 There's no reserve on this beauty. Make an offer and its yours, provided you can come get it. We've been driving it, as is. While it won't pass inspection, you could certainly drive it out of here with plates.
