Vehicle Detail

This is a road racing Triumph that we constructed from parts. The frame and motor numbers do not match. This bike is titled as a 1955 model and uses the frame number (19951) as the VIN. The cases are from a 1955 TR5. There is a clear Texas title for this motorcycle in our name. We built this bike using the very best parts available while still adhering to AHRMA’s Class C road racing rules. This bike won the 2012 Class C Foot shift championship in dominant fashion, it won over 80% of the races it was entered in. It also was used to obtain road racing victories at the 2012 AMA Vintage days held at Mid-Ohio. The points earned from those victories helped increase Ryan Ambrose’s grand national points total; he won the 2012 AMA Vintage Grand National Championship. This bike has been successfully campaigned and sorted over the last three years. It has proven to be the most reliable and consistent bike in our fleet of vintage racing Triumphs. This bike has a billet crankshaft made by Nourish racing. The connecting rods are also billet, they are from Thunder engineering. The Tri-Spark ignition is run on total loss. You can easily mount and run a magneto on this bike if you would prefer. We have run that setup on this bike before. The carburetors are two newly manufactured Amal concentrics. The bike starts easily after ticking it. It takes no effort to push start this bike. Before starting it in the video below, it had been parked in our showroom for months. It popped right off. The undersea aluminum oil tank was handmade here specifically for this bike. Two bolts hold the rear of the seat on, removing those allows the seat to flip up on a hinge providing access to the filler for the tank. The gas tank is a genuine Tri-Cor racing item. The exhaust was custom made from modifying some racing pipes, also from the Tri-Cor catalog. It has a BSA front brake, the biggest and best working brake that is legal for Class C racing. The wheels are shouldered alloy type from Excel. Throttle cables were custom made by motion pro, the throttle has no resistance and returns nicely. The cylinder head has been ported, and converted to a dual plug type. Custom made catch can fits nicely into the front motor mount plates, where the generator would go on a street machine. The gearbox has been converted to use late model Triumph 5 speed internals. However, since the AHRMA rules only allow for four speed gearboxes; first gear has been blocked off. We did this to increase the smoothness and consistency of shifting. So technically you start the race in second gear. The bike has a four down shift pattern. All the way up through the gearbox will put you back into neutral. There is a bolt going thorough the gearbox housing that prevents the cam plate from selecting first gear. This hinders you somewhat off the starting line, but works so much better than a four speed once you get going. You could remove the bolt and plug the hole, allowing you to use all five gears. There is a Newby racing belt drive and clutch inside the primary. The cover over the belt is a modified Norton Atlas primary cover. The external rocker feed oil lines have been converted to modern fittings and tubing. This stopped the oil leaks from the stock setup that uses copper washers with banjo bolts. the fork internals have been updated with modern dampening valves and improved springs. The front end has been tested and setup. We have logged a lot of track time with this bike, it is dialed in and race proven. The auction is for the bike and the stand only. There are no spares included. We are a licensed motorcycle dealer with the state of Texas. Residents of the State of Texas will need to pay TTL. $500 deposit required within 48 hours of auction ending. The bike will need to be picked up or shipped within three weeks of the auction end. We will help arrange domestic shipping, international shipping arrangements are the responsibility of overseas bidders. I cannot arrange export of this motorcycle. We can have it crated if required for export, the crating cost is about $350.We dell to most places worldwide, please see our shipping exclusion list for more details.
