Depending on the state in which you are resident, you may also benefit from much lower sales tax by purchasing a vehicle from a private seller. When I purchased this vehicle last year (as a resident of Illinois) from a private seller, I paid only $90 in sales tax. Please, check your Secretary of State's office or Department of Motor Vehicles for further information. IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS: I am a private owner who wants to provide you an honest, forthright and easy purchasing experience. I promise - that unlike most other internet vehicle sellers (particularly dealers) - I am very thorough and straightforward. No need to dig for answers about this car. I understand how frustrating and irritating it can be to shop for a used vehicle while talking to dealers and private owners who either don't know anything about the vehicle or who are unwilling to divulge all information. Nevertheless, if you have any questions or concerns, I will do my very best to answer promptly and personally. I know cars, so please, don't hesitate to ask any questions. This car has a couple battle scars. I encourage you to review the final few photos to see what kind of damage has been done. This damage is minor and has no effect whatsoever on the performance of the car. No accidents have been reported, and all body panels and doors have original, corresponding, tamper-proof vehicle identification number (VIN) stickers attached to them. This is the "Sport" model Honda Fit with aerodynamic body parts, aluminum wheels, fog lights, high end (i.e., loud and clear) stereo system and auxiliary audio port. It is bone stock, OEM, with the exception of a very desirable and rare JDM center console and an aluminum shift knob. - No check engine light (CEL) or malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). - Clutch, shifter, shift linkage and transmission are in optimal operational condition. - All brakes have a large amount of life in friction materials. - Shocks, struts and springs are in excellent condition. - Suspension bushings, motor mounts and spring isolators are in excellent condition. - CV joint, ball joint and tie-rod boots are in excellent condition. - CV joints, ball joints and tie-rods themselves are in optimal operational condition. - Car accelerates and brakes straight and true. - Accessory drive belt is in excellent condition. - All fluid and vacuum hoses are in excellent condition and without leaks. - Throttle body is clean, without any carbon build-up. - Engine has a maintenance free timing chain. There is no timing belt to periodically replace. - Honda Genuine battery is in excellent condition and currently reading 12.7 volts after 5 minutes of idling. - No mechanical fluid leaks or motor oil burn. Even the valve cover and oil sump are completely leak free. Many cars this age and with this many miles will show dirty oil residue around the valve cover and oil sump/pan mating surfaces, but there isn't any here. - No water leaks when run through automatic car wash or blasted with hose. - No cracks, chips or scratches in any of the glass. - No use on spare tire and tools. - All lights and lighting indicators, driving and accessory, are perfectly operational. No bulbs to replace. - Rear hatch shocks are in optimal operational condition. The hatch opens and closes as if it were new and with very little effort. I know, I was surprised about that too :) The car does not include a paper owner's manual. The previous owner could not locate it when I purchased the car. I do, however, have the PDF version for those who are interested. Paper owner's manuals are about $40 directly from Honda. See page 245 of the PDF version for details. I have not allowed any smoking or pets in the car; but I cannot vouch for previous owners. The interior is, notwithstanding, in excellent condition. 2 original and fully operational keys/key fobs included. All required maintenance/service has just recently been performed. By purchasing this vehicle, you will save yourself the time and money that is typically required to service/perform maintenance on a used vehicle. Even the tires are new. Avoid the cost. Avoid being robbed! All bases have been covered, all tees crossed and all eyes dotted. Absolutely no maintenance/service action will be required by the purchaser. Details with odometer readings and dates are available upon request and will be included with the sale. Maintenance/service records are included only for the duration of my own ownership. Please, see bullet points below. Although I haven't any records of prior owner maintenance/service, the car was evidently well-maintained and is in outstanding mechanical condition. The fuel economy, alone, is a solid indication of the mechanical shape and maintenance of this vehicle. Here is a summary with some additional information: -- No junk here! Title is clean and clear. History is clean and clear. Nothing to worry about. -- 37 MPG combined hwy/city fuel economy (Personally achieved. Mind you, I drive conservatively, shifting early and babying the throttle as if there was an egg beneath the accelerator pedal) -- 41 MPG (high) / 34 MPG (low) (Again, personally achieved. Individual results will vary depending primarily on driving habit and style) -- 4 new tires (Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum with approximately 2,000 miles on them). Try to find another used Fit with new tires. -- front end alignment after new tires -- fresh motor oil and filter (Pennzoil dino with Mobil 1 filter) -- fresh gear oil (Honda Genuine) -- new air filter (Honda Genuine) -- fresh coolant (Honda Genuine - radiator, engine block and reservoir) -- new spark plugs (OEM NGK iridium) -- valve lash recently checked and adjusted to spec -- new wiper blades -- Japanese (JDM) center console with telescoping armrest, storage bin and pull-out rear cupholders -- aluminum shift knob -- professional window tint (I'm guessing around 35% light transmission [confirmed legal in Illinois]. Completed before I purchased.) -- exterior freshly detailed with Mothers clay and Zymol cleaner wax by yours truly -- interior also freshly detailed -- only approximately 50 miles on fresh and full tank of gas -- Honda Genuine oil filter and several oil drain plug crush washers included with purchase If you have not already, I want to encourage anyone who has read this far to further research this car. Although I have been as thorough and straightforward as possible, I have not described every factory specification (e.g., power windows, locks, CD player, AC, cruise, tilt, etc.), only that which I feel is critical to the sale of this vehicle or that which I would want to know if I were browsing the market for a used automobile. Additional information on this particular model is plentiful with the help of a google search. The buyer is responsible for shipping/delivery or pick-up of this car. I can assist, but only to a certain extent. Please, don't hesitate to contact me for help. For payment I will accept a certified cashier's check or money order. Cash and personal checks are not acceptable forms of payment. The certified cashier's check or money order must clear my bank before the buyer takes delivery and title. Once the payment clears, the title may either be mailed or personally handed over to the buyer upon personal receipt of the vehicle. Worry not. This is not Craigslist.
