Vehicle Detail
This is an amazing find. 2002 was the re-design year for the 955i, it is substantially changed from previous years, they are NOT the same. This year saw power increase to 149hp and the weight of the machine drop, cowlings changed, frame geometry and suspension. This particular bike is the Daytona 955i CE (Centennial Edition) which adds carbon accents and was the only Daytona in British racing green. This is a very rare bike. I found this bike in a garage, untouched for 8+ years. Of course, it would not run so I took it home and have performed the following: Drain and flush fuel (premium) Remove and clean throttle bodies Check air cleaner (clean) Replace spark plugs Lube vacuum valves check all hoses Perform fuel pump disconnect recall (replace fittings that break) Change oil and filter adjust and lube chain Replace tires with Michelin Pilots Drive it around and make sure it works (boy does it). To be honest, I originally intended to keep this bike, being that it is such a rare find, but I'm 51 and no longer invincible. This bike is WAY too much fun.... Way-Way too much fun for a guy like me with four kids. I've been riding for 40 years, had many-many bikes and this one is by far the best handling, sweetest power band bike I've owned. yes, an R1 or a CBR1000 will roll on at 7000+rpm and launch past this bike, but they are no match or the low end torque and even controllable power band.. combined with the racing geometry, the no-frills cockpit and rumble of the triple you have pure Triumph joy (and Triumph has flair that only Ducati and Aprilla have). Bike comes with a tune pipe (sound is really great, making that amazing triple sound even better) bag of oil filters, a really ugly grey leather tank bra and an actually quite comfortable custom sheepskin cover for the seat as well as an ill-fitting cover (Yamaha cover I had lying around). The bike is, as you can imagine, in impeccable shape. It has NEVER been dropped. Really, you must come take a look. Test rides go like this: Put the cash in my hand, I hand you a signed title, you drive, if you don't like come right back and we switch back...... you don't come back or you crash, well then... that's that then. Bike does NOT have a plate. It is a Utah clean title and the plate comes off the bike in Utah. Contact me through e-bay. John
