Here for sale is a 1971 BMW R60/5 . "It seems incredible now, but in the mid-1960s, BMW came close to abandoning motorcycle production completely. Motorcycles were suddenly becoming a losing proposition, so BMW decided to focus on developing its more profitable automobile business, a move that in time revived the company’s finances: It also meant that the BMW motorcycle range got somewhat neglected. If BMW was to continue building motorcycles, a radical change was needed. Fortunately, what the company came up became a classic BMW motorcycle - the BMW R60 /5". This BMW was tucked away for some time until recently. All the numbers are matching, which mean the engine and frame all match. The only thing I have done to her was hook up a battery and gave her a bath. She does kick over and the electric starter does work. There also was spark going to both plugs, and the lights did come on. The fairing has extra gauges and starter switch. This BMW does have a clear FL title. I am listing her as a non running project, and now I am going to let my video, slideshow and pictures do the talking.
