This vehicle was a re-launch of a pre-WWII model made by SS Cars Ltd. called the SS1. Jaguar Cars produced the Mark IV in England from 1937 to 1948 with only 3,162 made, making examples as nice as this one hard to come by. This beautiful car is finished in two-tone Butterscotch and Cream over a Red leather/Tan carpet interior with the perfect amount of patina on the seats. A front-mounted 3.5L 125hp straight 6-Cylinder Overhead Valve engine with rear-wheel drive powers this 4-Door Sedan, justly labeled the Sport Saloon. The engine is actually a Mark V engine, which is the same as the Mark IV but with a better fuel pump. This car offers a unique right-hand drive experience with a 4-speed manual transmission and the 48,000 miles on the odometer are believed to be original. Other desirable features include a factory sunroof, pop-out/lighted turn signals, Lucas headlamps, push-button start, factory suicide doors, and beautifully preserved chrome. It has AC, heat, and an upgraded electric choke. The car also comes with original books, manuals, a rear tool kit that is partially complete, and no extra holes in the body for lights that were commonly enforced when a car was imported. According to the dash plaque, this car was originally purchased through Marston Motor Company in Tottenham, England. The car then came to the U.S. and 20 plus years ago it was restored in California by L.E. Fleuelling, which is on another dash plague. Fleuelling was a member of the Jaguar Driver’s club and took precision care with this cars’ restoration. From California, the vehicle came to Michigan and for the last nine years it has been in the hands of local Jaguar mechanic who has maintained the vehicle with professional attention. It has always been garage kept and has been a staple in a great collection of vehicles. This car is stamped with the appropriate 510604 chassis number from the factory matching the VIN on a clean title. The only things not original to the car are the paint and the upgraded engine along with the electric choke. It starts up on command and performs optimally. It is not a trailer queen but definitely has show car status and has won several trophies in its lifetime. There is no rust and the undercarriage remains very clean. This is a great collector car you can drive and enjoy in the present while will retaining its value, if not appreciating. It’s not everyday a right-hand drive Jaguar comes along with such low miles, low production numbers, and maintained to the high standard this car was by Jaguar enthusiasts.
