This rare 1987 Honda Big Red 250 es has electric start and reverse. The engine is awesome and it purrs like a kitten. The engine starts and runs very well and is very strong. This ATV has brand new Maier rear fenders, new seat cover, new plastic gas tank, new front & rear brake pads, new front & rear brake cables and a new foot brake cable. The front tire is fairly new and has most of the tread left, the rear tires appear to be fairly old and I'd say probably have 40% of the tread left. Included in this auction is the original gas tank which could possibly be restored. This Big Red runs very well and is lots of fun. You hardly ever see 1987 Big Red's for sale because the 1985's seem to be more common. Honestly it feels like a 350 instead of a 250 and it sounds more like a 350X than a Big Red. The rear rack of this ATV has been slightly modified by a previous owner who basically removed the 90 degree angle portion of the rack and welded it back on there flat. Both the front and rear racks have been repainted. I own a 1985 and a 1987 Big Red and at least for me, the 1987 engine sounds stronger and has more pickup. If you give this machine alot of throttle in 2nd gear, it will lift the front wheel off the ground. My 1985 is in near mint condition but it won't do that. The 1987 beats it hands down. Anyhow, please let me know if you have any questions about this ATV. I would prefer a local pickup but will ship the ATV at the winner's expense and would be willing to deliver it up to a 50 mile radius of Lexington Kentucky if necessary at no charge.
