Vehicle Detail

1986 IROC Z-28 Chevy Camaro with T-tops I bought this IROC off of the original owner 10 years ago. I have only put 7,500 sunny Sunday miles on it. Hasn't seen rain since I've owned it. The title is clear and was always in-hand. You would have trouble finding one in as good shape as this one. I have owned 5 third generation F-body's and this one is the nicest. It has been garage kept the entire time that I have owned it and the original owner must have garage kept it mostly also considering the condition of everything. The original window seals do not have any cracks in them. Neither does the dash pad. Which usually is the first sign of these cars history of sitting outside. The car was professionally painted (base+clear) 15 years ago and looks just as fresh as the day I picked it up. The IROC door decals or stripping was never replaced. This never bothered me since I'm a performance enthusiast. I like a car to look clean, not all pimped out. Performance is my thing. I will do my best to describe the condition of this car. If you are familiar with these Z28's and saw it in person, you would know right away how well taken care of this car is, but I'll do my best to describe it here. I have more photos and don't mind phone calls about the car so just ask. All the glass is good. No dents or dings in the body. All the interior is good. There is a some wear on the drivers seat but looks like a lower mileage car wear. The head liner is original and is NOT sagging! The steering column is tight. The doors do not sag. Carpet is good. Non-smoker. T-top bag is good. Privacy trunk blind opens and closes fine. For what it's worth, has a high end $500 aftermarket CD head unit from 10 years ago, =). Original head unit included. Power windows and locks work. Suspension: All of the suspension has been upgraded. Bilstein performance shocks/struts. New strut plates/bearings. New springs front and rear. All control arms front and rear have new poly bushings. New performance lower control arms and panhard bar. They were not needed but I had Spohn sub frame connectors put in. The car is very solid going down the road, no unnecessary flexing anywhere. Steering: Every steering component other than the steering box has been upgraded with the heavy duty (thicker) components that NAPA use to carry. Tie rods, center link, pitman arm, custom solid adjustment sleeves. The car's steering is rock solid and better than new. Does not wander. Provides confidence. Brakes: All of the original brakes have been upgraded. The original 10" inch rotors were barely adequate when new. The new custom C5 Corvette dual piston on a 4th gen Camaro 12" zinc coated rotor stops this car in no time. They also fit under the stock 16" wheels. Also the rear has been upgraded with a fixed 4 piston Wilwood setup. Upgraded all brake hoses to stainless steel braided lines. Unlike the original spongy brakes, the new setup is solid and gives confidence. Engine: Professionally built 355 V8 crate motor. Fed with fuel via upgraded external fuel pump/filters and stainless steel braided line. Hooker shorty headers feed into a 3" Hooker exhaust system. Holley 750 double pumper performance carb with HP performance main body. Fuel regulator with return line and fuel pressure in line gauge for easy adjustment. Spark is powered by a MSD Ignition and MSD distributor with vacuum advance. Also a MSD retard box that drops timing with boost. Upgraded BeCool radiator and dual electric fan setup. Only 3,000 miles on this motor. With power adder, this car is pushing 600 hp. This is not for everyone but it is fast! Power adder: Procharger P1SC pushing 7lb boost at peak. (Change to smaller pulley if more boost is desired) Only 2,000 miles on Procharger. Performance Procharger blow off relief valve installed. 8 rib belt. Transmission: Professionally built for big boost (way more than the current 7lbs) 700R4 automatic with overdrive. The overdrive and vacuum advance saves a lot of fuel when just cruising around. Upgraded performance stall converter. Rear end: Performance Moser 12 bolt rear with 4.10 gears. 33 spline axles rated for 1200 hp. 1350 yoke. Tuning: Wideband oxygen sensor system from Innovate for tuning power and economy. Final note: I can't list everything here and we all know you never get back out of a car like this one but I do have over 24K in parts alone. Just for reference. Buy a new one off the lot today, have 40K into it and this will still win the drag race for a fraction of the cost. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks for looking!
