Here is a cool bike with a great patina and an even better history. I imported this 1952 express motorcycle from Germany about 4 years ago. Herr Obermaier bought it used around 1961or62,rode to his job at a machine shop for a few years, bought a passenger seat and footrests when he met his now wife and rode around some more with her on the back. The inevitable child was born at which point the motorcycle was deemed too small for sidecar service and parked in the firewood storage shed with oil on the cylinder, a rag in the exhaust and a liberal amount of heating oil sprayed all over the bike. A loan from both sets of parents secured a used VW for the young family and the trusty old bike was forgotten about until I persuaded Herr Obermaier to let it go to a new home. After a few weeks of cleanup work the bike bubbled to life and is now a running and surprisingly manly sounding machine for a 2 stroke. This size motorcycle was built by many manufactures before and after the war, most of them using the 98cc sachs motor, which was bullet proof due to having very few moving parts. This bike had new tubes and tires installed, the old dry rotten ones are included if you care about them. The paint looks original and has a great patina to it. In my book it would be a sin to repaint it. Great piece of office art, beer store or cofefe shop bike .For questions please call 214/707 9525.
