Vehicle Detail

1959 Buick Le Sabre 4 door sedan, salvaged title. This car drives very well, rear differential, torque tube in great shape. Automatic twin turbine 2 speed dynaflow transmission. The torque ball and retainer assembly located on the tail shaft of transmission have been recently replaced.364 Nailhead V8 motor, 2 barrel runs excellent. I am not sure what the particular type of starting system on this vehicle is called but, it does not start by turning ignition key clockwise like a normal starting system. You must push accelerator peddle all the way to the floorboard, there is a switch on right side of carburetor that engages and activates starter motor, this is factory. Ignition key fits glove box and trunk. Door key opens passenger door but not driver door. Power steering, no power brakes. L-side wing window is cracked, all other glass good. The only fluid leak is very small coming from top of power steering gear box seal. 4 wheel brake shoes all good, rebuilt wheel cylinders, new outer wheel bearings, new front brake hoses, new master cylinder.. New tires have approx. 80 miles on them, Hancook Optimo P215/75R15 . Interior needs Rear seat cover, front seat back cover has about a 14" tear towards bottom. Door panels all in good shape.Headliner in good shape. Dome light rusty, no lens, inop. Rear seat shelf metal rusty, holes for speakers. Dash is complete and in pretty good shape with little rust on top, some rust around chrome around gauges. Heater box doors appear to be frozen shut. All outside lights work, headlamps highbeams, taillights, turn signals, brake lights. Dash lights inop, horn inop, gas gauge inop, radio inop. windshield wiper motor inop. All 4 doors and trunk close very smoothly. I have chrome strip that attaches horizontally across front of hood, and both chrome strips that attach along outside bottom of rear window. Trunk is in good shape with some surface rust. There is some kind of thick coating on bottom of trunk , I had the gas tank down and there is no rust underneath . Floorboard under back seat has surface rust but not rusted through. I have not removed carpet but I can see that there is surface rust but looking at floorboard from under car it is not rusted through. The worst rust is located at both lower corners of rear glass, see pictures. Some rust on front of hood, Some rust at bottom of LR door, see pictures. There has been a 1/4th " steel reinforcement plate welded to the outside of the frame , LF wheel well. It looks like it is to strengthen frame and bolts that hold power steering gear box in place, bolts go through plate then through frame to steering gear box, see picture. A friend told me this type of reinforcement was common on some particular older GM cars, please do your own research to get more information on this issue. Equipped with glasspack mufflers in good shape. For more info please send message or call me personally @ 707-631- 5170. THANKSOn Feb-07-14 at 17:17:04 PST, seller added the following information:Trip odometer and speedometer both work.. Missing sun visors. Horizontal tear in front seat,8"
