Vehicle Detail
about 24hrs to go...make an offer on this old gal...i've found a prettier, younger girl with fewer doors that i wanna spend some time with. 2/8/14...cracks near tailgate will be repaired today...to be honest i forgot they were there until i took pics. wipers should be up and wiping this weekend also, and hopefully i'll be able to repair vent window latch. doubt i'll have time to repair floors, but i might surprise myself. also gonna build a nice battery hold down frame from 3/4 angle. again, don't hesitate to make a reasonable offer... don't let the appearance of the body fool you, this is a solid truck in all the right place. body work is body work, but shiny paint and bondo a solid rig does not make! Price lowered...i've found something i want, and would like to sell this....make a good offer, and it'll be yours! I've had this vehicle for a while now...and it's time to part ways. Please read the whoooole ad, as i've put a bunch of info in here I found it here on ebay, a few years ago, in Hyannis Mass. Drove it here to Va. Since that time i've maintained and replaced items to keep it roadworthy. I'll start up front...winch works. well. i had to replace that radiator. i have original, but it needs to be recored. do not plan on using that radiator until it is recored. Engine...304. carb was replaced with a holley 2300. works well. new cam and cam bearings, along with related top end parts. I put new bearings in the bottom end. Oil pump was also replaced. new water pump. long life purple coolant. pertonix ignitor. taylor solid wire-core plug wires. epoxy filled coil...pretty basic stuff front axle fa15...closed knuckle dana 44. new felts for the balls. 4.09 ratio new output seal. Transmission...t18 wide ratio it shifts. the shifter pin is sloppy but it's not like an old vw...it's still very usable. new seals. no grinding. no popping out of gear. no other funny bidness. i have no idea on condition of clutch beyond it doesn't slip and the throw-out bearing doesn't howl. transfer case... transfer case...t141, which i believe is the np202 gear-to-gear. also works well, shifter might need some adjustment. no grinds or etc. resealed. i didn't change the shaft seals tho. drip of gear oil from there. indicator lamp on the dash works. rear...ra16...aka dana 60. open carrier. 4.10 gear. brakes...factory power. hydrovac. just went through the booster. seems to work well. replaced master cylinder with nos with new cups installed. drums are in good shape. stops fairly straight. clutch..it shifts. no weirdness. electrical...all lights work. dash lights work. gauges work. heater works, but is now on a toggle switch under the dash until i find the correct switch (which has yet to happen) rear window works, but is a bit slow. only works from dash switch. signals...back up lights...horns...all work. wiper just stopped working. i'm getting a motor this weekend, so they might work. don't know the condition of motor i'm getting yet. speedo stopped working about 4000 miles ago..i think it stopped on 10900. everything else work...4wd works good. winch works really good. throttle hand control and choke all work. has good 7.50x16 8 ply bias ply tires with good tubes and flaps. no headliner...no bows or anything, but i do have the interior lights..the frosted glass ones..and they do work. winch and bumper were dealer installed. factory installed tie rod protector. recent shocks. brake shoes are about a year old. exhaust is fairly new but a weld leaks a little...i can take care of that. interior...it's not bad. dash pad is cracked. seats are nice. i believe the original seat covers are under the red and white covers. factory seat belts are there and work, even the rear ones. doors open and shut good. all locks work with original keys. now for the body...being an International, it has rust. not as much as a Scout ii, but it's there. front floor have a hole on each side. above rear wheels is bubbling. doglegs are rusty as you can see. driver quarter panel needs sheetmetal work. passenger quarter is bent a little but not bad. bottom of passenger fender has a hole in it. a small hole above the passenger headlight. tailgate...the bottom is rust, as the homemade aluminum hinges show. a crack in the body on each side of the tailgate from body flexing. tailgate stays shut and doesn't rattle around. and the cowl...it's rusty. the "cans" are gone. there is rust on the exterior under the hood. but the hinge areas are solid and the exterior of the cowl is solid. i've flushed the cowl out periodically and sprayed rust converter in the cowl corners and anywhere else i could reach. oh...the latch for the drivers side vent window broke. i have it, but don't see a way to repair it, and i can't find a solid part around here to replace with. so not working...speedo, wiper motor (might be fixed) and vent window latch. overall, a mechanically sound Travelall, that with some basic welding skills and time would be a really nice rig. or do what i have for the past few years, drive it damn near every day as it is! i have a copy of LST(that matches vin), owners manual, factory service manuals, some extra wheels, another set of IH cab lights, master cylinder, and possibly some other small things. clear title, in my name. it is titled as a 1967, because it was sold in 1967. very common thing to occur back in the day. vin numbers match on truck and paperwork please...please please please...inspect vehicle, send someone to inspect for you, or arrange for me to make a walk-around video or take specific pics. if you buy it, it's for the agreed price...no haggling upon arrival, unless i've grossly misrepresented the truck, and i don't believe i have. sold as-is, where-is. i will ship. but you make arrangements. that means i don't make shipping arrangements, that you are the person responsible for shipping, or picking up. i will assist by taking off the roof rack and disassembling, but that's it. i would trust to drive this truck anywhere at anytime...it's slow, drafty, rides rough, and is old. if you have never driven an old car or truck for more than a hour or so...please think this purchase through. i'd rather not sell than sell to someone who won't actually enjoy owning and driving a unique, rare truck. if you have realistic expectations of old iron, and what it will and won't do, then this could be a vehicle for you. if you have no storage, your partner says you already have enough old cars, or you have no intention of learning how to maintain an old vehicle, you might be disappointed. oh yea....there is no plastic body filler, anywhere, hiding any surprises. also, on the front axle, i changed the bronze "king pin" bushings out in favor of timken bearings, top and bottom. i had a tubular CroMo drag link made, with heim joints with delrin bushings when i couldn't find a suitable replacement. I have the original 3 piece drag link. The roof rack has broken stanchions...but they're available through Empi. wheels are in good shape...i had them powedercoated a few years ago. Some weathering is apparent. But the lock rings are in good shape, the lock ring grooves are clean, and the tube/flap surface is spotless. Trailer light harness works. The cool Aria Iodine spot light on the rear bumper works and is wired to the back up lights. I added another fuse panel, under the steering column, for accessories, since the original panel is limited. This truck did have a/c, but all that remains is the compressor mount, which would work damn well for adding on-board air, since the mount is for a york compressor. tail light lenses are new, but i have two sets of IH lenses...they're a little washed out. Engine has great oil pressure. Pulls really good vacuum. Starts really easily and reliably. Doesn't over heat, even in the summer, without a fan shroud. I have the driver side gas tank, but it has some pin holes. It isn't junk, just needs cleaned and sealed. The passenger tank is nice and clean. All the switching valve stuff for the tanks is there. I have keys to the cool locking gas caps. Original keys for the truck also...2 sets. also...there is no rust under those fancy aluminum kick plates. don't hesitate to make a reasonable offer. Truck came from the Pasadena, Ca area. any questions don't hesitate to ask. thanks
