I'll need all the specifics ahead of time, like mileage, year, pics, etc. Proudly listing a '05 Smart diesel coupe with NO RESERVE. There is unknown mileage on motor. 3rd owner reported the 2nd owner replaced the motor but could not find the prior owner's contact information for me to verify anything. What I can say is that this engine appears to be every bit of a lower mileage motor. It does start right up on the coldest of mornings so the compression is very good. Also, there are no oil leaks of any kind and does not blow smoke. I would feel very comfortable driving this car cross-country. Cosmetic, the car is consistent with one of this age/mileage. It does have a dull spot in the paint on the passenger side front fender/bumper. It is somewhat visible in the pics. Video's were taken Summer 2013 and only about 600 miles were placed on the vehicle since. Also, I did sell the alloy wheels depicted in the video. Pics show the current wheels on the car. The car also has winter tires currently mounted. Standard options including traction control, block heater, keyless entry, electric windows, and power locks. This car does not have AC. There are just a few things that make Smart cdi's unique and one of only about 100 or so here in the United States. It is powered by a Mercedes engineered turbo diesel that is well known for lasting hundreds of thousands of miles. This euro-spec version has been in production since 1998 and has been proven dependable. I can easily achieve 50 to 60 mpg and hits speeds of 75+ comfortably on the freeways. The transmission is a Tiptronic (no clutch manual or sometimes called "slap stick"). And finally, unlike the 2nd generation US models, it also has 6 speeds instead of the 5. Many questions always come up regarding servicing the car. An online manual is available from the website "Evilution". Ebay does not permit me to place the link in, but just Google it. There you will find a wonderful resource with helpful descriptions and pictures to help in performing repairs and maintenance. As for mechanics to do maintenance on the car; I always recommend contacting an independent mechanic specializing in European cars. Sometimes they employ mechanics fresh "off the boat" from Eastern Europe that have knowledge of these cars over there. Having disclosed that the car is a grey market car, please check your DMV to ensure it will title in your state. I have a clear Ohio title and will pass it on to the buyer. I have read online of certain legal ways to get this car possibly through. Also, if financing the car, ensure your lender will finance it without a "blue book" value or NADA.
