Relisted due to the fact I did not list the VIN in the description the first time (see below for correct VIN #). Auction Ends Wednesday, Jan 22, 6:00pm PST, 9:00pm EST. For sale is a Euro model Smart Fortwo Cabrio with only 35,600 miles. It gets an honest 44mpg (mostly highway) and fits into the tightest of parking spots. Although US models (451's) were not imported until 2008, this one was brought over in 2005 for a movie shoot and immediately sold. Owned by the same person ever since. This car has spent nearly its entire life in southern California and therefore rust and corrosion is very very minimal. VIN is not accepted by eBay as this car was never intended to be sold in the US. The correct VIN is WME01MC011H129700 . A few differences between this model (450) and the US versions (451). The 450 has a somewhat different body style, 6 inches shorter, and about 140 lbs lighter. It also has the Mercedes 3 cyl .6L gas motor as opposed to the Mitsubishi gas motors on the 451's. The 450 has a 6 speed gearbox instead of 5 as found on the US Smart's.Mechanically this car drives like it was new. It doesn't leak a drop of fluids and absolutely everything works. I wouldn't hesitate a moment to decide to drive this car cross country if need be. The stereo was changed out to a Clarion w/ MP3 and USB jacks. Also, the shifter knob is a Brabus as is the parking break handle. Wheel's are Heinzelmann. No tears of any kind on the convertible top, but I did include a photo of the rear plastic and it has a yellow tint to it. A cheap replacement from a marine canvas shop would cost about $160. Many questions always come up regarding servicing the car. An online manual is available from the website "Evilution". Ebay does not permit me to place the link in, but just Google it. There you will find a wonderful resource with helpful descriptions and pictures to help in performing repairs and maintenance. As for mechanics to do maintenance on the car; I always recommend contacting an independent mechanic specializing in European cars. Sometimes they employ mechanics fresh "off the boat" from Eastern Europe that have knowledge of these cars over there. I have a clear California title and will pass it on to the buyer. If titling/registering the car in California, the plates will remain with the car.Also, if financing the car, ensure your lender will finance it without a "blue book" value or NADA.
