Vehicle Detail

1964 CA77 Rat Bike project, assembled from a disassembled bike, plus multi-colored spares used as necessary. 22k miles (speedo still works!), pistons/rings just replaced (STD bore), new drive chain, new correct JB-2 Battery, Stainless steel factory OEM muffler set (used), new cables, new a/m dimmer switch, starter clutch rebuilt, petcock replacement set installed on a SUPER CLEAN fuel tank with new gas cap. see: http://www.examiner.com/article/realizing-your-dream-some-assembly-required for more details. NOS parts used include: Battery ground strap, brake pedal, new cable set (brake, clutch -early style, throttle, speedometer), a/m dimmer switch. Spares include: front wheel assembly, front fork (blue), spare complete cylinder head, spare NOS bare cylinder head, extra luggage carrier trim pieces and hardware, headlight w/rim, center stand w/hardware, wiring harness, rectifier, fuel tank and more. Needs: knee rubbers for fuel tank, carb covers, air filter and tube (available from Retrobikes), headlight bulb with both filaments working (only HI BEAM works now), new tires and a left side mirror, as far as major parts goes. Bike came to me in pieces, destined for a rebuild/restoration back in 1980 that never happened. Frame was cracked at the rear fender, but has been re-welded, otherwise nothing special to report other than a bad paint job. The mufflers are early/late OEM Stainless steel versions which are a little scuffed up, lack baffles in the back, but will last pretty much forever. There was a license plate with the bike showing 1975 tags, but it got lost on a test ride. No other paperwork was given to me and the owner passed away sometime ago. Sold with bill of sale only. Frame number is CA77-400650 and engine is CA77-400639, so are the original factory pairing. Runs and drives well, tires are dangerous due to their being originals, but I drove it up to 65 mph with no problems. Tail/brake light are working, as are the horn and electric starter. I recently rattle-canned some of the bodywork parts to get a slightly more even look to the bike. Down South, these are lovingly referred to as "Critter Bikes" by a group of slightly crazed, but enthusiastic Dream owners who ride them everywhere you can think of... Buy this one and join the fun! This would make a great father/son-daughter project! If you are arranging shipping for the bike, some shippers will NOT take extra boxes of parts, etc. so check with them first before sending them out here. Parts are optional, so if you don't want to pay separate shipping or the shipper won't handle them, you do not have to take the spares as a part of the sale. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
