Vehicle Detail

Auction is for an original 1979 Scout II. Originally purchased in the Texas Panhandle. It spent its entire life around Albuquerque, NM. Very little rust. Rust was repaired over the rear wheel wells by previous owner. Truck has the 345 V8 with a new 4 barrel carb. It is an automatic with Dana 20 transfer case. Axle ratio is 3.73. The drivetrain is very strong. Starts right up with good oil pressure and no strange noises. It marks its territory with the customary IHC drips. The brake booster, water pump and AC compressor are new. The AC has not been been charged since the new compressor was changed by the previous owner. I have not messed with it. I intended to use the body on another project and part the remainder. The under dash unit works just fine. All electrics work. It has tilt wheel and non working cruise control. Newer Warn lockout hubs. PS and power disc brakes work just fine. Has home made center console that is very functional. It's a solid truck ready for some tinkering. What it needs: The steering gear box is JUNK!! I have a nice rebuilt unit that will come with the truck. It has all the leaks associated with an IHC product. Most could likely be fixed in a day. The oil pressure gauge does not work. It has an aftermarket one below the dash. I will include a working gauge. Tires hold air and have tread, but would not be my choice for any long trips.
