Vehicle Detail

Not many of these around in good condition, just try finding one. This one is in very good, driver condition. Minimal rocker rust, otherwise solid. Originally bought by the US Air Force and was on base in Great Falls, Montana. The Deer Lodge school district bought it from the Air Force, and they eventually auctioned it off years ago to a close personal friend of mine. I brought the truck from Montana to Wisconsin. It had been sitting inside for many years and I thought it was a shame not to be driving it. I gave it the usual treatment: New tires and repacked the wheel bearingsAll new brake shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, linesCarburetor rebuiltNew batteryNew drag link ($345)Installed a Warner winchGot all the lights working (including turnsignals)Tune up, all fluids changedNew rubber floor matsRepaired heater This is a great truck. The motor is smooth, the transmission shifts well and the clutch is good. It drives down the road without wandering, and doesn't have any odd noises. Nice and quiet going down the road, even at 65mph. Lockout hubs and the winch are a big deal. This would make a fine working truck. The original US Air Force markings are still here and there, and you can see the original Air Force blue under the hood. You could drive this anywhere. Come to my shop and drive it and I'll put it up on the hoist so you can see for yourself how good it is. I have described this to the best of my ability, and while I am completely confident in the truck, it is a vintage vehicle and is sold in as is condition. If you're interested, I would recommend you either visit the truck or have somebody inspect it. Just because I really like it doesn't mean anything. You are the one who's going to own it, and you should confirm for yourself that it is as advertised. Call me daytimes CST, 608-848-1189, Ron Cunningham. A friend is writing this for me, because I don't do the internet and I can't type. I can read my email, but that's about it. The person who calls me is going to get their questions answered a heck of a lot faster than the person who emails. I am sure that people who are addicted to email will ignore this and email me anyway. Go ahead, but don't be offended if you don't hear from me for a week. Pick up the phone and punch in the numbers.
