Vehicle Detail
Back For a third time due to no show auction winners... Is my 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser. The car has a custom electric green paint job, tinted windows, lowered, chrome rims, with clean interior power doors, power locks, power sunroof CD player great speakers AM/FM radio automatic very pleasing to the eye. With that said I am selling the car for well below what it is actually worth because of titling issues and it needs a catalytic converter the catalytic converter is $300.00 and can be purchased almost anywhere . The titling issue is because I originally purchased this car almost a year ago and got screwed big time by the former owner. The former seller assured me that she had lost the title in a move and told me I could just purchase a duplicate title at the DMV when I went to register it. When I attempted to do so I was told by the DMV employee there was a lien started on the car from two years ago so the only way to get the car registered was to buy a bonded title. The reason I never did this was because she also lied about the condition of the car it literally broke down in the DMV parking lot the day after I bought it. I ended up having to pay for all new gaskets as well as a brand new fuel pump in addition to mechanic fee's so I'm broke and can't buy the part or the bond, selling is pretty much my only option so I'm selling cheap because I know the new owner will have to pay an additional $500-$1000 to purchase a bonded title and for the part. The car does start up just fine but it stalls when it's idling. This car would be great for a person who knows how to work on cars or has a trustworthy mechanic. I have included below all the information I was given from the DMV about how to proceed with selling the car and I have the necessary forms to buy the bonded title waiting for the new owner. I would also like to state that I know buying a car via internet is scary so if you are local and would like to come check it out feel free to bring your own mechanic or anybody of your choosing I want the next owner to be 100% aware of what they are getting into here. The Only thing I ask is PLEASE do not buy or bid on this car unless you are 100% sure you want it re-listing fee's are killing me!!!! On Nov-22-13 at 15:14:08 PST, seller added the following information: MORE INFO ON OBTAINING A NEW TITLE I have gotten in touch with a different DMV rep who was leaps and bounds more helpful than the first person I spoke with and they are working on helping me out with this sale and again I have been told that if it is not possible to contact the former owner to get the information A new title may be purchased through a bond . Here is the info they gave me: A bonded title is used to register a vehicle that was purchased legally but for which the title or transfer of title was lost, misplaced or not provided. The California Department of Motor Vehicles requires individuals without a title to a vehicle to obtain a bonded title, also known as a DMV bond or a car bond.Complete the form, which requires you to certify that you made a diligent effort to acquire evidence of ownership and any validating documents. Attach unopened letters received in response to your request for evidence of ownership or supporting documents and any mail receipts for requests for which you received no response. (I have done all this and will pass it on to the new owner) The new owner will then need to Obtain a Motor Vehicle Ownership Surety Bond, or REG 5057 Form, from an office of the DMV or from the DMV website,Complete the form, which requires you to provide information about the vehicle, including California license plate number (I do have this) , vehicle identification number and year, make and model of vehicle. Submit to the DMV, along with the REG 256 Form. After this form is submitted you simply pay the fee's for the new title and plates and your done.
