Vehicle Detail

Im selling my 1959 GMC Pickup. Its a pretty Awesome truck. Served us very well as a daily driver for my girls to go to school. Its Original except for the paint which was forest green originally, someone painted in black in the 70's I think. And the seat has been reupholstered. Other than that its ORIGINAL. Its got the factory 336 Pontiac V8 engine and the 59 Cadillac transmission used that the time. I even have the original Drivers manual and original black license plates where are 62039. Its got the orginal tailgate and wood bed! There is ONLY one spot on the whole truck we could find any rust on, its on the bottom passenger door, picture is enclosed. The engine runs great, Ive taken here everywhere in the Central Valley, its just a GREAT truck. We have been very luck to have had her. Shes pretty straight, just look at the pictures. One of the original owners in San Jose was an Air Warden during the Cold War, so she did have a radio in the bed at one time along with an antenna as you can tell by the hole in the bed behind the driver door. There were stickers in the cab and in the bed about being an Air Warden. I believe im the 3 owner. In 1959 you could order your GMC pickup with the engine and transmission you wanted and it came like that from the factory, that is how this truck came to be. In the manual it says 336 = 200 horsepower. She will do 100 mph! She is a pretty Quick truck. All the guages work except for the speedometer which went out earlier this year. The second owner told me the miles on it were original. It was kept indoors and wasn't driven alot in the bay area. The previous owners were older people who just didn't drive much I suppose. Just look at the tailgate and the bed and the cab and the whole truck and you can tell it wasn't used much. I did most of the using. We did paint the red stripes on her. Also have the owners guide. She has dual exhaust with two glass packs. Sounds great! If there are any questions please feel free to ask! I have the title, etc... Because it has the original 336 engine and Caddy transmission and she is in great condition I would think of her as more of a collectors truck. GREAT truck to be completely restored! Or driven as is. I love the body and its condition. I truely hope it goes to a GREAT home... One of the things I really liked about her is the original clock on the dash next to the Speedometer! That is a RARE clock and RARE item on this truck. Unfortunately its not hooked up. Im horrible with wiring! Normally they come with a black dash gauge there. The radio is not hooked up, someone had taken out the radio and put something else there by cutting the hole bigger. I took it out and put the original one back in. The original color is forest green as you can tell by the glove box. There are 3 manuals that come with her. I love all the chrome inside the cab, looks pretty cool. She has been on the Westside Auto Club Tshirt and metal plaques. I wish I could post more pictures but it doesn't allow it. Sold as is. $500 deposit is not refundable. Again, any questions please feel free to ask! On Dec-04-13 at 13:43:15 PST, seller added the following information: Yes, its the original 1959 "336" Pontiac Engine and its the Original Hydra Matic Transmission. Its the same transmission in the 1959 Cadillac. GMC's back then were "higher end" pickup trucks so they had some stuff Chevrolet didn't. I really love the engine because its rare and harder to come by and of course its original to the truck which is why I say its more of a collectors truck. But that being said we do use it and drive it every day because life can be short so why not use what you got. THE only reason I am selling her is because my daughter is going off to college! THE ONLY reason. Other than that I would NOT sell her which is why I hope she finds a great home. I do have more pictures. Unfortunately the pictures don't do her justice. We were really lucky when we bought her! She's solid and hard as nails kinda truck. Someone will definately get a GREAT GMC Pickup. Thanks. On Dec-07-13 at 18:37:16 PST, seller added the following information: yes her reserve is 12,000...
