Vehicle Detail

1972 Chevy C10 truck. Small block power with a Saginaw four speed manual transmission, not the granny low, a real four speed. This truck is about as simple as they come. It is a manual steering, manual disc brake, manual transmission, non-air conditioned truck. How much more low tech could it get. We bought this truck with intentions of making a shop truck out of it. Our business travels have become longer and more miles away, I really like my air and automatic trans on those long hauls, so it just isn't working out. I have driven it on a few local, 100 mile trips and it runs out just fine. The truck starts everytime, has a four barrel Edelbrock carburetor with an electric choke and an HEI distributor. Nothing fancy, just good reliable parts. Truck does not run hot or use oil. It will need a windshield, the one in it has a pretty good crack. The windows need some assistance rolling up and down, new regulators would fix that. The lights, turn signals and horn all work. The heater works, just has the levers broken to adjust like they all do. It has had a later model seat installed with better, three point seat belts. Has an aftermarket CD player. Dome light works. Full set of dressed rally wheels with almost new tires, P275 60 15's. The truck is a lot of fun to drive with the saginaw four speed. Clutch is in great condition, trans has a slight drag going into fourth gear. Does not affect the driveability of it. Second gear is a lot of fun around here in town. The truck needs a drivers side rocker panel and I would replace the cab supports, they are like all these trucks are. It has had a spray in bedliner done, poorly. The hood has a hood ornament, not original. The back bumper is aftermarket but in very nice condition. The front grill is tweaked a bit and it has a tube grill insert, not my style, but it is what it is. There is not rust above the windshield like so many of these do. It needs all new window fuzzies and door weatherstrips. I have bought a few parts for it and if it sells for the Buy It Now price, I will throw them in. New gas tank grommet, new glove box liner, new heater control rebuild kit, and a hood that does not have a hole for an ornament. All said, this is a cool old truck. You can drive while you restore it, throw your logo on it and have a neat little shop truck or just leave it alone and drive the wheels off of it.
