Vehicle Detail
This is my fourth Pontiac F-body, and by far the nicest. To say it's my baby is an understatement. It makes my stomach turn, but an impending divorce has brought me to a point where I have to let it go. I bought it the spring of 2011, and had it hauled to me from Washington state in an enclosed trailer. The pics do not do this car justice. If you are a Trans Am/Firebird person who frequents the online forums, you'll find me under 'solicit' as my member name. My Trans Am is the real deal and will not disappoint. I showed it the first year, but frankly got bored with shows. Local cruises and hanging & running with other car guys is where the fun is at! The car is presently in climate-controlled storage in South Beloit, IL. (I am in St Louis) The body is 100% rust free. No evidence of panel repairs, and no floor/trunk pan patches. Undercarriage is extremely clean, with no visible rust or paint cover up. The original-color Carousel Red paint & body are show quality. The recent paint shines better than new. Flares repainted the spring of 2012, and black window trim repainted summer of 2011. There are two small body scratches I can remember. One is a very small ~1.5" scratch I stupidly made a few months ago with the key as I opened the driver's door, which I am quite certain can be buffed out. The other is a ~2" scratch on the top of the shaker. It was there when I bought the car and is not very noticeable, which is why I never bothered to mess with it. The shaker functions like new, which adds to the driving fun as you watch the flap open & close. The interior is about 70% done, although it shows much better than most already. I'm just real picky. I've swapped kick panels, a sail panel, visor hardware, many interior screws.....little things here & there. Also put a ton of elbow grease into just cleaning it. I pulled the A/C and ducting with the goal of eventually putting in 'under-dash' A/C. I swapped the “suitcase” with an A/C-delete from Classic. (Here's the links: ) No radio. Although there are no tears or signs of significant wear, the carpet could stand to be replaced soon. No tears in the seats. Dash is beautiful, with no cracks, and instrument cluster is beautiful & original. Console is presentable, but has a few nicks that made me want to replace at some point. It was a low priority item though as it looks good as is. Headliner is fantastic. Plastic is all in good shape. It runs extremely strong. The cam'd 400 with Flowmaster 40's really rumbles. This Trans Am lays two stripes whenever you stomp on it around town. It was always a favorite at local cruises. If you're into resto-mods/pro-touring cars and love Pontiac f-bodies, then this is the Trans Am for you. It's why I bought it, and I'm hoping it goes to someone who wants it for the same reasons. I've hardly driven it due to my career requiring I frequently travel. If I put 3,000 miles on it since buying it 2 1/2 years ago, I'd be shocked. Because of relocating to St Louis and traveling even more, I have literally driven it less than 30 minutes this year. My father lives nearby it and can show it as needed. If you can wait until the weekend to see it, I'll make the trip up there to meet you and show the car. With a little work, it's a trophy winning show car with all the expensive work already done. Or, if you're wanting an asphalt terrorizing machine that will strike fear into tuners just by the sound it makes heard blocks around, this is a Trans Am you really need to consider adding to your stable. Genuine, serious inquiries only please. I ask that you please avoid the temptation to send notes with trade offers or low-ball prices. Communication is key. Ask any question you like. On Nov-22-13 at 12:46:39 PST, seller added the following information: ***Update: Someone sent an email asking if I had the old A/C box. I do, but can't remember if I have the compressor. I'm fairly certain I do, but can't be completely sure until I go through the boxes. The compressor was off when I bought it. There will be boxes of parts that come with the car, including all interior pieces I replaced, extra steering column, distributor.....I didn't throw away anything. Ha! I have a folder with all receipts from what I've done and the previous gentleman's work.
