Here is your opportunity to own a low mileage Volvo legend; a 1987 240 DL wagon, equipped with a manual 5 speed transmission! It comes in its original 211 paint code, Deep Red (Bordeaux Red) with less than 83,000 miles on the clock. This is an early production 1987, made September 1986. Original owner took delivery from Turner Motors, in Sacramento. This owner had it equipped at the dealership with am/fm cassette, roof rack, and cruise control. The maintenance records reveal he then drove it across the USA, having it serviced in Georgia and Maryland. Service documentation to1993, at just under 50K, are found in the Volvo maintenance record book. Second owner, also a Sacramento resident, purchased it in 2002, with just under 67,000 miles. I recently purchased this fine car, from the second owner and have driven it for about 800 miles, without a problem. I consistently get 29 +/- MPG. I have a current smog inspection and it is ready for the new owner. Within the last month the following maintenance items have been addressed; New: catalytic converter, timing belt, v-belts, coolant hoses, spark plug wires. Spark plugs, distributer cap & rotor, air filter, oil and filter change, thermostat, coolant flush, rear shocks & possibly a few other items. It runs drives and stops without any issues. It has always lived in California and being kept in the garage is evident. It is without any rust issues. The interior is very nice; the dash is flawless and the seats still feel new and are without any rips. The exterior paint has a nice shine and minor scratches and dings are present. Of note, there is a small dent/impression on the drivers' side front fender, above the trim piece. Exterior condition is consistent to that of a car with indicated mileage. I have owned several of the 240 series and this one seems to perform quite well. The performance of the five-speed is noticeably improved compared to the automatic equipped vehicles. These low mileage Volvos are getting a bit scarce and I know a true enthusiast will appreciate this package. This car has not been smoked in, or hauled a bunch of kids or pets, so there are no gobs of pet hair, remnants of a spilled milk/juice or chewing gum stuck underneath the seats. In fact, the interior has that Volvo 240 smell, if you know what I mean ;). Of note; the air conditioning is not working (I have not had it diagnosed) and the cruise control is inoperative (again, undiagnosed), all the parts remain however and the fuses do check okay. In addition the seats do not get hot when the seat warmers are turned on. Everything else seems to work fine including the rear wiper/washer & defroster The VIN numbers all match up (the public VIN on the dash, Mylar sticker on the driver’s door and the VIN on the a-pillar passenger side). I possess a Carfax report for this vehicle (dated 10/2013), as well as a State of California Title (in my name) which will confirm this car’s low mileage. The title is clear and the registration is current. No accident history, per Carfax. I reside about 15 miles from the Sacramento Intl. Airport and willing to meet at that location upon completion of the auction. I would however like to relinquish this car to it’s new owner ASAP, I will only hold it for 7 days after cleared payment, unless exigent circumstances exist or other arrangements are made with me. In addition, the deposit (Paypal) is non-refundable and due within 24 hrs. after the close of this auction. Full payment is due within 7 days (cash or wire transfer).
