The following is a transcription of his description of the motorcycle on offer. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I bought this bike out of an estate several years ago and have been riding it occasionally since. Due to Seattle traffic, we swapped out the original 21" front wheel with the tiny drum brake for a 19" Honda 350 front wheel with a twin leading shoe drum brake; big improvement. Since we used the Honda speedo drive as a spacer I put the Honda speedo on as well. The original AJS wheel is in good shape with a usable Avon rib mounted, (the 19" has a new Avon.) We did this without modifying any of the original AJS parts, just turning the Honda axle down on a lathe. The bike starts easily, runs shifts and handles well however the clutch plates are always stuck as it sits for weeks in between rides. I start it up, get it rolling down a slight incline, snick it into 2nd gear and ride with the clutch held in until it breaks free. It also leaks oil from both engine and transmission, (big surprise.) The rubber mount on the front of the seat is broken. The lights work and the charging system works with a new Podtronics 6-volt regulator. The tanks are original, 'not sure about the rest of it. The headlight looks like War Department issue, identical to my 16H Norton. The horn, chain guard, tool box and original speedo are missing although the rear-wheel speedo drive is there. I have manuals if you want them. I can put the original front wheel on if you don't want the Honda wheel. I can deliver the bike, drained of fluids, to a shipper in the Seattle area.
