Up for auction is a 1968 Pontiac GTO, sitting since the early 1980's. Original color was Nightshade Green, black interior, black vinyl top, bucket seats, console, automatic with factory Hurst dual gate shifter, 3.36 gears with open carrier, power steering, power brakes (4 piston front brake calipers), registered with the Pontiac historical society. Engine and trans are not original, has 1970 YH code 455 H.O. and 1969 turbo 400 trans, has 143 casting heads installed, but the #16 castings along with the original 400 crank were left in the trunk. Car starts and drives (no battery included), has 210 psi pressure( + or - 1 to 3 lbs. per cylinder) when I did compression test, does not knock or smoke.Body is rough, will need 1/4's , outer wheelhouses, fenders and trunk floor, the forward floor pans and rockers look solid, interior is all there with the exception of the carpet, removed for shag carpet, but otherwise a restorable vehicle.
