Vehicle Detail

This is a top of the line 1955 Lincoln Capri 2 door hardtop. The car has the Lincoln 348 V8 engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power windows and power seat. I purchased the car with the intent of restoring it but I have 6 other Ford Motor Company cars in various states of restoration and have decided I cannot do the Lincoln too. The car came from California and the body is good. I have a couple of example photos of the underside showing the inner quarters which are solid. The trunk pan, floors, door bottoms etc. are all solid. The interior is rough but all there. The exterior trim has some dings here and there but for the most part is in pretty good shape. The body has some very minor damage with the biggest item being a dent in the driver's side fender. The hood was damaged when I got the car and has been replaced with a hood in good shape from a parts car (that is why the hood color is different). The left hood hinge is bent but another set of hood hinges is included with the car. Also, the hood front trim piece is not on the car in the photos but the piece is with the car in the trunk and needs to be attached. The bumpers have some surface rust but are solid and not dented or bent. Glass is good with the exception of a crack in the passenger door window. The previous owner told me that he drove the car onto his trailer so the engine did run but I have made no attempt to start the engine. I did put a socket on the crankshaft bolt and the engine turns freely. The car originally was a coral color and was very badly repainted white probably many years ago. This is a good solid complete car and an excellent candidate for full restoration. With $ and work, it could be turned into a beautiful car. The car is sold AS-IS on a bill of sale. Connecticut does not issue titles for cars older than 1981. I have title by California vehicle transfer. This document along with the bill of sale will go to the new owner. A $100. Paypal deposit will be required within 2 days after the auction ends. Full payment within 7 days by bank check, personal check or electronic transfer. Checks must clear my account before vehicle ships. I can assist with arranging shipping but buyer assumes all costs. If buyer wants to pick up car COD, thats fine too. I am starting the auction at $995. with NO RESERVE. I hope you are the one to restore this old KNIGHT OF THE ROAD to its original beauty. On Oct-16-13 at 19:48:44 PDT, seller added the following information: I originally listed the engine displacement as 348 C.I. The engine is a Lincoln 341 C.I. Y block. Also, I believe the original color of the car body was Cashmere Coral with a white top (nice color combination). On Oct-17-13 at 13:01:49 PDT, seller added the following information: The actual odometer mileage reading is 63062. I originally indicated it was 90000 because I had forgotten to look at the odometer before I sat down to list the car on Ebay.
