Vehicle Detail
I DROVE THIS CAR FOR THE LAST YEAR UNTIL JUNE & IT DRIVES GREAT! MY VISION FOR THIS CAR WAS TO MAKE IT A HOT STREETROD USING A 383 STROKER ENGINE WITH A 700R4 AUTOMATIC TRANNY! I WAS GOING TO PULL OUT THE ORIGINAL ENGINE AND MAKE THIS CAR HOTT! I HAVE 13K INTO HER AND THE INTERIOR IS BEING STRIPPED TO BE WORKED ON! POWER BUCKET SEATS IN THE FRONT WITH A 12" LOKAR STICK SHIFT ON THE FLOOR! NEW TRIM AND BUMPERS ARE NEEDED BECAUSE THESE ARE TOO PITTED OR DINGED TO USE! ALL 8 SIDE WINDOWS ARE FACTORY TINTED BLUE-GREEN AS IS THE WINDSHIELD AND THE SIDE WINDOWS MATCH THE 4" VISOR ON THE BRAND NEW WINDSHIELD! I HAVE THE FRONT SEAT IN IT AND ALSO HAVE THE REAR SEAT SPRINGS STRIPPED & READY TO BE COVERED! THIS WOULD BE A NICE WINTER CAR AS I HAVE INSTALLED SO MANY NEW THINGS SUCH AS GLASS, FRONT AND REAR WINDSHIELD GASKETS, TRUNK GASKET, AND ALL 4 DOOR GASKETS! THE FLOOR IS DOWN TO METAL & WAS UNDERCOATED. I JUST BOUGHT THE PASSENGER SIDE RUBBER INSULATION BECAUSE IT COMES IN SECTIONS! BESIDES ALL THAT THE CAR HAS NEW OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLES AND LOCKS! A NEW TRUNK & GLOVE BOX LOCK AND KEY! I HAVE PAINTED THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT SHINY BLACK WITH THE INTENTIONS OF INSTALLING THE 383 BLACK IN COLOR WITH ALUMINUM OIL & TRANNY PAN GASKETS! THE 383 PUTS OUT 425HP! HOW'S THAT FOR PUSHING THIS CAR? I HAVE 13K INTO HER! THE WHITE PEARL AND BURNT ORANGE PAINT COST OVER 8 GRAND! IT HAS ALL NEW FRONT AND BACK LIGHTS INCLUDING PARKING & PLATE LIGHTS! I WAS ALSO UNDERCOATING THE FENDERS AND DOOR UNDERSIDES! THE CAR IS STRAIGHT AND TRUE AND I WAS GOING TO SELL THE ORIGINAL STRAIGHT 6 CYLINDER ENGINE AND TRANNY BECAUSE THIS CAR DESERVES A HOT MOTOR! IT HAS A NEW HOOD ORNAMENT & LOGOS! THIS CAR DRIVES AS IS RIGHT NOW & THIS IS WHY THE MOTOR AND TRANNY CAN BE SOLD! DUE TO A SLIPPED DISC I CAN NOT FINISH THIS BUILD & I HOPE SOMEONE REALIZES IT IS WELL WORTH A RESTORATION! NEW TRIM IS AVAILABLE IN CHROME OR STAINLESS STEEL! PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS AND MAKE AN OFFER!On Oct-15-13 at 16:37:45 PDT, seller added the following information: THIS CAR IS ALSO BEING SOLD LOCALLY! THIS MEANS THE WINNING BID DOES NOT WIN IF THE BUYER IS LOCAL AND DECIDES TO PAY EVEN 1 DOLLAR MORE THAN THE AUCTION BID. YOU PEOPLE WAIT UNTIL THE END AND THEN BID AT THE LAST MINUTE BUT THERE ARE ALREADY OFFERS COMING IN FROM LOCAL BUYERS! I AM GIVING EVERYONE A FAIR NOTICE THAT I HAVE 13K INTO THIS CAR AND AM WILLING TO ACCEPT $8500.00 FROM THE 1ST BUYER! I ALSO PUT UP MORE PICTURES AND AM WORKING ON SEVERAL COATS OF WAX HAND RUBBED AND BUFFED OUT! PLEASE LOOK AT WHAT THESE CARS ARE SELLING FOR AFTER THEY HAVE A SMALL BLOCK 400 WITH A TURBO 400 TRANSMISSION! THE 383 STROKER PUSHES 425HP & THIS WHAT I WAS GOING TO USE IN HER!PLEASE BE AN EDUCATED BUYER BECAUSE THIS CAR WILL NOT BE SOLD FOR PENNIES ON THE BUCK! THIS CAR IS SO STRAIGHT AND THE LINES ARE EVEN WHEN THE TRUNK, DOORS, & HOOD ARE CLOSED SO THIS MEANS IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT! I WOULD LOVE TO KEEP HER BUT IT IS GETTING TOO HARD TO WORK ON HER & I ALSO REWIRED THE HORNS AND I AM USING WIRE CASING TO MAKE THIS BUILD AS PROFESSIONAL AS MY LAST 1927 MODEL-T! THERE ISN'T MUCH MORE TO DO BUT BUY NEW BUMPERS, TRIM, AND DO THE INTERIOR! WHEN YOU CHANGE OUT THE ENGINE IT CAN BE SOLD FOR AN EASY 3 GRAND WITH THE REBUILT TRANNY TO SOMEONE WHO IS LOOKING TO BUILD AN ORIGINAL 1956. MY VISION IS A SUPER POWERED 56 WITH BUCKET SEATS AND AN AUTOMATIC 4 SPEED TRANNY WITH A LOKAR 12 INCH SHIFT KIT ON THE FLOOR! THIS IS A VERY SOLID CAR AND WITH ALL NEW TEMPERED TINTED GLASS, A BRAND NEW WINDSHIELD, PLUS NEW GASKETS ON THE FRONT AND REAR WINDSHIELDS & DOORS THIS CAR NEEDS LITTLE ADJUSTMENTS TO MAKE THIS CAR 1 HOTT RIDE! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NICE BODY, FRAME, AND STRIPPED OUT INTERIOR SO YOU CAN DO WHATEVER PANELS ON THE DOORS AND HEADLINER WILL TURN HEADS NEXT SUMMER EVERYWHERE YOU DRIVE IT! I HAVE EXACTLY 79,329 MILES ON HER AND WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE BODY THIS WILL SHOW YOU HOW MUCH WORK THAT WAS PUT INTO IT BEFORE PAINT AND CLEAR OVER THE PAINT! I TOOK IT ACROSS THE STREET TODAY TO WARM UP THE ENGINE AND IT IS A VERY STRONG 6 CYLINDER BUT THESE CARS NEED A V-8 BECAUSE YOU WANT TO ROCK WHEN YOU ROLL! GOOD LUCK!On Oct-18-13 at 08:56:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I was asked about the wiring that is exposed and these wires were used to connect the circuits for the Front, Rear Lights, Radio and also for the Horns as there are 2 up front where the new horns replaced the old ones! We are talking about a car that has been on the road for only about 11 years out of 57 years old! All the lights work, the horns as well, and the tail lights along with the brake lights!! Every car I've ever worked on and this is car #117 need to have new wires & before we make a harness color coded to match the manual which also comes with the car we use temporary wires to make certain we match the connections! Since the hard part is already completed all that is left to do is go to Autozone and buy the correct colors that are in the book and we always solder our connections and shrink wrap them before using flexible conduits to cover the wires! any car that is over 20 years old needs attention to the wires as well as the battery cables! Any Smart Mechanic knows these things but since I have been asked why are some wires just hanging free I thought to address this because a rookie may buy this car and I'd rather help whomever because I have a Masters License in Electrical as well as Bachelors Degree in Teaching Electronics. Line diagrams are nothing more than substituting a color coded wire to the Light, Radio, Horns, And the Antenna! Most people know how to install a new radio with speakers in any car and anyone who is interested in buying this car probably knows these are glass fuses and to prevent blowing them out we use a newer system to test everything along with a smaller fuse so we do NOT overload the circuit and start a FIRE! The insulation is rated for a certain temperature before it begins burning and this is caused by an overloaded circuit! This is why we always use a 5 or 10 amp fuse instead of a 15, 20, 25, or 30 amp fuse because if there is a short circuit the fuse will burn out before burning the insulation which could cause a FIRE! We also use wire rated at 20 to 30 amps to prevent any mishap if there is a short circuit! I always use 14 gauge wiring bought from Lowes or Home Depot & try to match the COLOR CODES IN THE MANUAL! Black is always used as the ground wire as it is on the Battery! Red is always POWER and any other colored wires are called switch legs or power leads to a speaker, lights, radio, or powered antennas!!! The internet has so much information now about any type of wiring you will need to do and you do NOT need to follow the COLOR CODES BUT MUST USE A SUITABLE GAUGE OF WIRE SO YOU DO NOT OVER HEAT IT AND THIS IS HOW FIRES BEGIN! Most wires are only 16 gauge and since we use 14 or 12 gauge stranded wires we actually are doing what is known as overkill. I'd rather spend a few extra dollars using stranded and also a larger size wire than use a 16 gauge and just meet the specifications for the circuit being rewired! Remember 1 thing about wire, there is stranded and solid and stranded is always best to use for any circuit in a car or for the speakers! Allot of people think Guglielmo Marconi invented the radio when in fact it was Tesla! Without Teslas dreams and inventions we would be running our homes as Edison wanted with several dozens of batteries! Teslas patent of the radio was far advanced than Marconis and was finally given credit for this several decades after Marconi stole the same diagram that Tesla had a Patent on the radio about 13 years earlier! Below is the truth about Tesla! Yep, Marconi claimed he invented it and as a result even shared the 1909 Nobel Prize in Physics. The media at the time — and thus popular opinion — embraced his claims. But in 1943, only months after his death, the United States Supreme Court finally gave inventor Nikola Tesla recognition as the first to truly conceive of and patent the principles of radio (or what he called ‘World Telegraphy’). They struck down Marconi’s fundamental patent. But not many people have seemed to notice. The truth was that Tesla originally filed his own basic radio patent applications in September of 1897 and they were granted on March 20, 1900. Marconi’s first patent application in the US was filed well after that, on November 10, 1900. He was turned down. Marconi’s revised applications over the next three years were repeatedly rejected because of the priority of Tesla and other inventors. In 1903, the US Patent Office commented: “Many of the claims are not patentable over Tesla patent numbers 645,576 and 649,621, of record, the amendment to overcome said references as well as Marconi’s pretended ignorance of the nature of a ‘Tesla oscillator’ being little short of absurd… the term ‘Tesla oscillator’ has become a household word on both continents [Europe and North America].” On Oct-19-13 at 06:46:54 PDT, seller added the following information: ANY BUYER WITHOUT 100% FEEDBACK OR ZERO FEEDBACK NEEDS PERMISSION FROM THE OWNER TO BUY THIS CAR! PLEASE CALL PHIL @ (561) 352-1605 FOR INFO! THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE WHO BID ON THINGS WITHOUT MONEY IN HAND! I TRUST IN GOD AND DEAD PRESIDENTS! I TRUST NO ONE WHEN IT COMES TO MY CARS!On Oct-19-13 at 13:05:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Ebays lies about what I just copied off this page!Vehicle History Report Not Available1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 4 D SEDAN STRAIGHT LINES ON HOOD,TRUNK, & DOORSVIN#: A56J118328Possible Explanations why the report is not available include:The seller didn't enter the vehicle identification number correctly. The vehicle is too new to have a history report. The vehicle was manufactured prior to 1981.The vehicle didn't have a 17-digit vehicle identification number. The vehicle wasn't intended for the US market (such as limited production exotics).THIS CAR HAS HAD DINGS IN THE SIDE MOULDING, A COUPLE ON THE BUMPERS, BUT HAS NEVER EVER BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WHERE ANY OF THE DOORS, HOOD, TRUNK, OR QUARTER PANELS WERE EVER CHANCED BECAUSE THEY WERE NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT! THIS CAN BECOME A BADASS GASSER OR EVEN JUST A STREET CRUISER ABD BECAUSE IT'S SOLID AS CAN BECOME A NICE MACHINE IF SOMEONE HAS THE KNOWLEDGE TO INSTALL AN 8 CYLINDER 383 STROKER PUSHING 425HP OR 475 HP & THAT MY FRIENDS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT TO PUT THIS CAR INTO THE PAGES OF ANY CAR MAGAZINE! BE DIFFERENT INSTEAD OF TRYING TO RESTORE IT BACK TO 1956!
