Vehicle Detail

Attention to all car or art collectors. 1956 Pontiac Star Chief 2 Door Hardtop. No reserve auction - the highest bidder gets the car. Please read the whole description/faq before bidding or asking questions. I am trying to describe the car as honest as I can. The car underwent a frame off restoration around 3 years ago and in my opinion this car is in excellent condition. There is minor to no wear or tear. Body, paint and exterior: The paint was done professionally and looks very good. There are no scratches, waves, orange peel or defects in the paint. The body is very straight and my magnet couldn't find any bondo, fiberglass or whatever. I was pretty amazed. The chrome is also in excellent condition - around 90% of all chrome parts were rechromed and the rest of the 10% is in nice condition. The glass is all good without any cracks. This is not the usual 20 footer - it looks like a new car. Gaps are good. Interior: The interior is all brand new with no signs of any damage or use. There are some newer gauges in the dashboard that gives the new driver a better control over the car. When you open the door you will immediately fall in love with the car - its just beautiful. Mechanics: I drove the car for around 200 miles and it is just a pleasure to drive it. There is no overheating, or wired sounds. You can expect that at every red light stop somebody wants to talk to you about the car or they follow you to the next gas station. I don't think the engine is the matching numbers engine - I was told it is a rebuild big block 400 Pontiac engine but I never got into it to confirm that. Miscellaneous: The windshield wiper motors are missing; the car was never driven in the rain since frame off restoration - the gas gauge and speedometer is not working - I have the original hub caps for the car; good condition This Pontiac can be used as a show car or it is a super nice driver. FAQ: Why do you sell the car? I bought this car recently to take my family out for weekend cruises but unfortunately the car won't fit in our garage and I am not planing to pay $300 for storage fees a month. Also I am not leaving the car sitting outside in the Florida rain - I have to much respect for classic cars - especially a car in this beautiful condition. Do you have a clean title? Yes I do. Is the title in your name? No its not - the title is signed over into my wife's name - i talked to the DMV and they told me that we have to cross out my wife's name - initial it - and put the new owners name on it - its not signed yet because my wife wasn't there when i purchases the car - all the steps we will do notarized Would you consider a trade? Yes, I would but it needs to be a classic coupe or convertible that is just a little bit smaller than the Star Chief. Please don't offer me any projects, damaged classic cars or custom bikes. It would need to be the same value or higher - I can put some money up to a good trade. What is the mileage? I don't know - I don't have any proper paperwork that proves the current mileage Can I inspect the car or have a 3rd person to inspect the car for me? Absolutely, inspections are more than welcome. I want that the new owner gets what he expects. How do I pay for the car? Cash, wire transfer or a cashiers check - the car won't leave my facility until all funds have cleared I am the winning bidder, can I see the car before paying you? No you cant, you have the chance to see/inspect the car before the auction ends - I don't have the time to play any games. I am drunken and I like to bid on ebay cars and at the end I am not paying - do you go after me? Oh yes, my brother in law just finished law school and he needs practice - expect to pay 25% of the winning bid. And yes I am serious. Do you have anybody of your friends to bid up the car? No, I am not playing any games - the highest bidder gets the car Would you sell it before the auction ends? Yes I would but the offer needs to be close to what I payed for the car - I know I will take a loss but I also know what the car is worth This is a no reserve auction? Yes it is - the highest bidder get's this piece of American history - again I am not playing games. Do you have more photos? I have around 100 photos I can send to you Are you a flipper? No and yes - I am buying a lot of classic cars for my german clients but this car is not a flip - like I said this one was intended to be our new family car and I know I paid to much for it but I need it gone. If you have any other questions please feel free to call me at 954-643-8380 I am running a transport company and I am more than happy to give you a great quote for national or international shipping.
