Vehicle Detail
Real engine numbers matching documented Heavy Chevy. Only 6700 made in 1971 and only 15 cars registered on the National Heavy Chevy registry. The four speed option is very rare. This car runs and drives good but like any car this old it has some minor issues, mostly cosmetic. I will describe this car as best as I can. Here are some of the flaws of the car. The drivers side inner fender is plastic and is cracked and missing some of the area that holds the battery tray. There is some surface rust on the floor boards (see photos). The trunk also has some surface rust and some distortion in the metal that can easily be repaired. There is a crack in the windshield. Has some small hail damage that someone tried to repair with bondo. The fenders and quarters are rust free. The rear quarters might be replaced, but if they are, they were done very professionally. This car has the original rubber mat instead of carpet which is correct for the Heavy Chevy. I found the build sheet under this mat. You can see some of the yellow paint on the build sheet. This car is painted the correct 52 52 sunflower yellow and has the correct 703 interior. I believe the seats and headliner are the originals and in pretty good shape. Door panels are also nice for their age. The rear package tray is pretty dirty and will need replaced. The dash is original and has some cracks as does the dash itself. Easily repaired. I have not owned this car long so I have no history other than it has spent its entire life in sunny dry southern Colorado. I drove the car over 80 miles with no issues. No smoke, shifts nice, does not overheat. At interstate speeds there was a slight shimmy in the front end but felt like the wheels were out of balance. The brakes work great and appear to be all new. (has brand new master cylinder). Everything on the car matches the build sheet but the tranny looks like it has a 1972 casting date so that is not numbers matching. The engine is a 350 four barrel and has the VIN on the block. (see photo). Has a 10 bolt rear end non posi. The underside of the car is greasy and dirty but rust free. Very nice solid Heavy Chevy!!!!!!On Oct-11-13 at 07:04:07 PDT, seller added the following information:Now one of the 1971 Heavy Chevys listed on the National YF3 Heavy Chevy Registry.
