Helping a friend sell a very unique '02 Smart Fortwo Cabrio with extremely low mileage. This Smart was imported direct from Germany and used in a film before being sold to its current owner in 2005. While this model is a gasser, I can sell separately a DIESEL engine and drivetrain with ZERO miles, (will include an ECU and SAM unit) to install in the car. But contact me first for more information on this option. Otherwise, this is a trouble-free low mileage 54 hp engine and current owner has a detailed maintenance history going back to his purchase in 2005. Also included in the sale are some of the original German paperwork. The car has AC and blows ice cold. Wheels are 15" Heinzelmann Projeckt and tires are 195/45/15's all around. Tread is still passable but would likely need replacing in the near future. Shifter knob and handbrake are Brabus (billet aluminum). Speedo currently reads in KM's but a MPH plate is available from several online sources. Odometer reads in KM as well. Sound system is upgraded and far better then the stock system. Inspections are welcome and encouraged. In many ways the 450 is a better car then the 451 that many see on the roads today. It's smaller and lighter and in my mind, has a better appearance. And unlike the 451, this one has the 6speed gearbox instead of the 5. Mechanically, absolutely nothing that needs to be done. The canvas top has no rips or tears. Currently titled in California as a kit car. Insurance will not be a problem although I understand that General and Geico will be relunctant to provide necessary coverage. If financing the car, ensure your lender will finance it without a "blue book" value or NADA. Many questions always come up regarding servicing the car. An online manual is available from the website "Evilution". Ebay does not permit me to place the link in, but just Google it. There you will find a wonderful resource with helpful descriptions and pictures to help in performing repairs and maintenance. As for mechanics to do maintenance on the car; I always recommend contacting an independent mechanic specializing in European cars. Sometimes they employ mechanics fresh "off the boat" from Eastern Europe that have knowledge of these cars over there.
