Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1968 Mustang GT fastback. I have had the car for three years, the car was repainted in it's original color, Gulfstream Aqua with white reflective C-stripes. The paint is about two years old and looks good. The wheels and tires are also two years old and the brakes are all gone through. The car was built and sold new in San Jose California and has ZERO rust. (Check floor pan pics) A new front bumper was installed and the original grille pieces were re-chromed. The car retains the entire matching numbers drivetrain including the J-code 302-4V, Toploader 4 speed, and an open 9-inch rear end with 3.25 gears. The engine was just rebuilt with less than 700 miles!! There is a new RAM clutch and the 4 speed shifts like new. Factory options include: GT package, Interior decor group, Tach and trip odometer, fold down rear seat, AM/FM radio. As for flaws, there are two tiny paint chips in the hood, and could use a new carpet. I do have some misc original parts to go with the car such as new carpet (For fold down seat only), original intake and carburetor, drivers side mirror, and the original wheels.Engine upgrades include a Holley Performance carburetor, Edelbrock Performer Aluminum intake, roller cam and roller rockers, and the block was bored .030" over. There is a new aluminized exhaust with performance mufflers, the ehxaust system is about two years old as well.I have picture of the VIN stamped in the block and transmission. Some other factory options somehow found there way onto the car at some point in time such as power steering, (all original Ford parts and does not leak, a dealer add-on?) the turn signal hood, and a clock (it does work but currently does not have an electrical connection). What is even more interesting is that a Shelby specific 140 MPH speedometer somehow found its way onto the car at one point in time. No one reproduces these to my knowledge. I would appreciate it if someone could enlighten me on this one. I do have the Marti Report, Statistics breakdown (this is a 1 of 2 car) and a reproduction window sticker. This is a nice solid weekend cruiser that shows well. I chose to sell to possibly move on to another car, but if it does not I will have no problem keeping it and maybe try again later down the line.
