Vehicle Detail
Here is the MOST ORIGINAL AUTOMOBILE that I have ever found. Its a 1953 Dodge Coronet 4-dr sedan. I found this car early this spring sitting in a garage where it had sat since 1964. That's right! This had sat for the last 49 years.I purchased from the original family. It is a Beautiful Original 21,000 mile car that has been so well preserved its hard to believe. It is sitting on the ORIGINAL TIRES with the original spare in the trunk. It still has the EXTRA KEYS STILL WIRED TO THE BACKSIDE OF GLOVEBOX LOCK FROM THE FACTORY. The original licence 1953 personalized licence plates were still with the car and I took them and had them re registered to the car at the DMV. It still has the paper sticker where the paint was inspected and ok'ed from the factory on the top side of firewall. Both front and rear seats look like they have never been sat on. The door panels look like new! The dash still shines like the day it was new! Never any mice or varmets or insects inside of this car. Still smells almost new! Inside the trunk the mat looks new! Under trunk mat looks new! Under the rear seat it still looks New and still has the original BUILD TAG still wired to the seat springs. Build tag reads as follows AMP 6-22-53 Chrysler 1528680 CHGE Date 3-16-53. Glass is perfect and all windows work as new! Doors open and close .as new! Every thing works as it should. There is No Radio or Clock as they weren't ordered. It is a flathead head 6 cyl. with 3 speed manual transmission. No Power Steering or Brakes! Original tires have no age cracks and still enough thread to drive on except I wouldn't want to put many miles on them as the old bias ply tires don't handle real well. Some time before 1964 the original owner had the car repainted from the side molding down and also repainted the original wheels. Other than that It was untouched. The stainless is near perfect and the chrome is pretty good. The paint is still very good other than some scratches and stone chips that could be touched up very easy. It needs a good buff and wax. Here is what I have had done by a professional. Gas tank taken off and cleaned and new fuel sending unit installed. New fuel pump installed. Engine tuned up. Carb rebuilt. Changed oil and filter. All new brakes and wheel cylinders, springs and braked shoes installed. New plugs and wires installed. It still has the original fan belt and hoses on car as far as I know. I have spent almost $3000.00 on parts and labor so far. I have driven this car about 200 miles in the last 2 weeks. The only problem that I know of that this car has is that it has a sticky intake valve on number 5 cyl. and I have put a treatment in both the gas and oil hoping to have it unstick without taking the head and side cover off if I didn't have to. It runs good other than having a miss on number 5. All gauges work as the should with generator charging good and about 70lbs of good oil pressure. If I was showing this car the only thing I would do is put original spark plug wires back on ( I kept everything that was changed) and give it good buff and wax. I think it would be Very hard to beat in an original class. If I was to keep and drive the only things I would do it to put new white wall radials on it and also put new shocks on it. Colors are Silhouette Green Body with Rivera Green Roof. This is truly an amazing automobile! When was the last time You even saw a 1953 Dodge Coronet at a car show? The only reason I am selling this car is that I am moving from Ohio to Montana at the end of the month or I would keep it. This car need to be picked up before .October 12th 2013. I DO NOT ACCEPT PAY PAL! CASH ONLY!!!!! Thank You for looking and bidding. If you have any question Please feel free to do so. I HAVE LOWERED THE RESERVE!!!! On Sep-15-13 at 06:37:47 PDT, seller added the following information: There is a strong chance that I will have all the original paperwork for the car. When I bought it this spring the family told me that they had all the original paperwork but they were in the process of packing up the house. they said they put it all in a box and had pack it but couldn't find it the day I was there or when I picked up the car to haul home. I called them last weekend and they said they haven't had time to look but would go thru boxes the first chance they got. So if they find it and get it to me I will be sure to get to the new owners. this is only I get it from them. I will do my best and keep bugging them. I know how important this would be to the car. I also have some pictures of the car when it was still in the garage. I found this car in Amherst, Ohio where the car was also purchased and spent its entire life. 2 oils stickers in door jam where the oil was changed in 1961 and 1964. On Sep-22-13 at 10:37:22 PDT, seller added the following information: I better make myself clear on the paper work. I HAVE A CLEAR OHIO TITLE IN MY NAME. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY REGISTERED AND BEING DRIVEN. all paper work is up to date as it should be. The paper work that I don't have yet is the original buyers order and window sticker from when it was purchased new. The original owners family know they have it but cleaned out the house and haven't found the box yet that they packed it in. They saw it and packed it. They know they have it and said I will get it when they find it. But again I HAVE A CLEAR TITLE IN MY NAME TO TRANSFER TO NEW BUYER!
