Also selling a coupe model , Item # 251345502629 Proudly listing a unique Smart diesel convertible with low mileage. Carfax only shows 1 prior owner and no reported accidents or mileage issues. I can mail a full copy if requested. Standard options including traction control, block heater and cord, keyless entry, electric windows, and power locks. Optional accessories include power heated mirrors, premium sound, premium wheels, electric convertible top, leather wrapped wheel, air conditioning, tachometer, and clock . A CARFAX is available and shows 1 prior owner. Absolutely nothing that needs to be done. One of the pics does show a red light illuminated on the dash. This is simply the parking brake light. This car is definitely more then capable of doing a cross country trip. I do drive the vehicle somewhat, so mileage may increase slightly during the auction. Winter tires available but sold separately. The canvas top has no rips or tears. There are just a few things that make Smart cdi's unique and one of only about 80 or so here in the United States. It is powered by a Mercedes engineered turbo diesel that is well known for lasting hundreds of thousands of miles. This euro-spec version has been in production since 1998 and has been proven dependable. I can easily achieve 50 to 60 mpg and hits speeds of 75+ comfortably on the freeways. The transmission is a Tiptronic (no clutch manual or sometimes called "slap stick"). This model also has the selector switch for the fully automatic transmission feature. And finally, unlike the 2nd generation US models, it also has 6 speeds instead of the 5. Many questions always come up regarding servicing the car. An online manual is available from the website "Evilution". Ebay does not permit me to place the link in, but just Google it. There you will find a wonderful resource with helpful descriptions and pictures to help in performing repairs and maintenance. As for mechanics to do maintenance on the car; I always recommend contacting an independent mechanic specializing in European cars. Sometimes they employ mechanics fresh "off the boat" from Eastern Europe that have knowledge of these cars over there. Having disclosed that the car is a grey market car, please check your DMV to ensure it will title in your state. I have a clear Ohio title and will pass it on to the buyer.
