Vehicle Detail
~ 1973 Mustang MACH 1 ~ - Purchased in 2012. Previous owner (2nd owner) was from Kentucky. He bought it in 1998. Painted it in 1998. Mustang Lime-Green. 351C with a C6. Floor shift. Has Original hard to find hub caps. - Arrived w/ a dead battery, but fired right up and rolled off the delivery truck with the brand new battery installed. - Drove for a short distance and the automatic shifted fine. Needs brakes serviced. Needs carb adjustment. Drove it for a mile and parked it in the garage. Also, the foot parking brake is engaged. Needs to be bled. - NOTE: In my honest opinion, the car may not be driveable for long distances because of the brakes! Have a mechanic look it over, entirely, for safety concerns and before engaging it on the streets. There might be other mechanical and electrical issues that I wasn't aware of nor informed by previous owner, so please be safe. I disconnected the new battery and it'll go with the car in the rear with the air dam, horn & air cleaner cover. The battery's brand new, so maybe a proper boost will make it fully functional. It hasn't been driven since and it's been covered all this time. I never had the chance to work on it. Could be a project or just needs love from someone who appreciates, has time and knowledgeable about MACH 1s. - Body is straight. A looker. I believe it's been repainted the same original Mustang Lime Green. Some paint overspray found on running lights and window trim. Interior headliner was replaced. Needs headliner lamp (assy. is there). Seats have been replaced. Floor carpet looks new. Instrument gauges just needs cleaning. Console looks completely original. Aftermarket Tachometer (3) gauges needs to be re-attached. Back shelf needs new speakers, as they have been taken out. Windows need to be cleaned. Weather strips could be replaced, but fine for now. It wasn't water-tested. Missing antenna. Very few dings. No major dents. Is a 10-footer. I didn't have the luxury of inspecting nor having a mechanic go over the car, so there might be issues or parts that I do not know about. Just needs a good home to retire in and be pampered once again. - There's rust starting to show on bumpers, front and rear wheel well lips. Chrome has pitting. There's rust on the hood's underside($300 for new). Hinges are good. Engine bay just needs a steam clean to shine again. Rust and holes in the trunk floors(needs to be replaced). Radiator mount has some rust. Floor pans have been replaced, per previous owner. I have enclosed pics of the underside for you to view also.* Arrived with passenger side interior door handle missing. Driver side has it but no cover. I attached both pics of both sides for inspection. Mid floor console needs to be tightened down. Leak coming out of right side. * FOUND 9/11: Pair of Blue Ford (original?) cylinder head covers in trunk. I believe previous owner replaced them with a Dress-Up Kit marked 351C.* UPDATE on 9/11: Connected the battery and with some fluid, the engine fired right up after months of sitting in the garage. It needs to be loaded/ratcheted/towed up on delivery truck bed. Drivability up the flatbed isn't guaranteed. * Just to re-iterate and emphasize for clarity... For those asking via messages if the car can be driven for long distances in its present condition in order to save on shipping expenses, it shouldn't as the brakes need to be replaced and a full inspection is recommended. *** Included: Original Breather Element cover, Horns and Original 1973 Air Dam, Original Radio. (2) Original Ford Uncut Keys and Shipping infos. Some extras too. *** Personality Perk: A "Jack Roush USA" Personal Signature appearing on the right-side sun visor!!!***(No information on this bit of American History, but who knows how this Mach 1 ended up with such.)
