Vehicle Detail

This is an original unmolested numbers matching 1969 SS Impala L72 427/425 4 spd. with only 54K miles on it. Built at the Tarrytown, NY. assembly plant and it is believed to be the very first L72 off their line for the 1969 model year and could have been the first L72 built within all the full size sedan body assembly plants for 1969 because there are no known of to date any 1969 full size body L72 that has a production number prior to this cars number of 13,707 , this car was assembled during the 4th week of of production for the new 69 body style at the NY. plant. GM only allowed 546 full size sedans to receive the L72 engine by dealer special order and this is the only information known on these 546 builds, meaning it is unknown how many of them were dropped into Impala, SS impala or Biscayne body's nor is it known how many were 4 spd.'s or automatic transmissions, it is most likely that the lowest build count per body, package & trans would have been an SS Impala body with the 4 spd. transmissions and I've come to this conclusion per the knowledge known about all the 1969 full size body L72's that are known of and information available on such cars to this very day. Only 3 items are missing from the car and those are the carb., some kind of tubing from air breather & radio, otherwise 100% complete and original, car does have a warranty replaced M21 trans with the correct numbers and production date to confirm this statement. Car has not been run nor driven since 1982 and still has the original 1982 state inspection sticker on the windshied. Car was originally sold new from Reedman Chevrolet in Langhorne, PA. and still has their service sticker on inside of glove box door where they placed them upon every new Chevy they sold, in 1969 Reedman Chevrolet was considered one of the largest muscle car dealers on the east coast. Car also has the bucket seat & console option. I removed the intake and pass. side head to inspect engine internals and everything looks very nice on upper side, I do recommend that the engine be removed and cleaned, new rings & bearings installed at the very least before engine is started for the first time due to time setting. Clear title in hand and if you wish to contact me by email per any questions you may have about car, please I ask of you to be a serious buyer for the car. Thank You. Note: Car is being sold without any warranty and as is condition. Note: Auto is advertised for sale locally and I reserve the right to close auction at any time if reserve amount has not been met. On Aug-18-13 at 17:34:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Let me state again, there are no 1969 L72 full size sedan's of any body style, much less being a SS 4 spd., that are known of to this day built at any of the assembly plants that has a build date or production number prior to this SS L72 4 spd., I do believe this car is the first 69 L72 ever built, # 1 of 546, If anyone has knowledge of one built before it I welcome that info. Thank You. On Aug-19-13 at 03:50:31 PDT, seller added the following information: Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 was the motor's assembled birthday-45 years old - pad stamped TO819LD- Aug.19, 1968,,, the 439 block was casted on July 5, 1968,,, 840 heads casted on April 23, 1968,,, intake casted on June 7,1968,,, warranty replaced trans casted on April 15, 1968 with code #CT8 being unit produced 3855 as counter warranty replacement,,, 12 bolt rear with 331's was assembled Oct. 4, 1968,,, and car was assembled 10A - first week of Oct. 1968 being I believe to be right at the end of the 4th week of production. On Aug-20-13 at 08:05:45 PDT, seller added the following information: SERIOUS BUYER'S ARE CERTAINLY WELCOME TO COME AND INSPECT CAR, otherwise please keep your comments and what you think you know to yourself. Thank You On Aug-22-13 at 10:05:06 PDT, seller added the following information: Yes, the block's stamped vin. # is that of the same as car's vin. #,,,, This car was sold to me by a family member of the original owner whom purchased it NEW from Reedman Chevrolet in PA., car has not been floated around.
