Vehicle Detail
Selling a 1978 Plymouth Volare Station Wagon, VERY low reserve price. Was my daily driver for the past 3 years until a month ago. Back in school and have a job that requires a lot of driving, so I can't keep the wagon any longer. Very straight body, no dents or rust (small spot on rear driver quarter panel and a small spot on the front bumper, but otherwise, rust free on the outside). I have spent a lot of money and time on this vehicle over the past 3 years: New carburetor (not rebuilt; replacement cost was $500, and was professionally installed about 3 months ago), distributor, fuel pump, radiator, water pump, leaf springs, shocks, brakes (brake light stays on, seems to be related to emergency brake, but rotors, drums, calipers, pads, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, wheel bearings all replaced within the past 3 years), tires (all 5 new in the past 3 months), distributor, alternator, battery, fuel lines, and more. Does not smoke, but leaks a little oil; have valve cover and oil pan gaskets included. The bad: started stalling out on me when it hits operating temp; mechanic thinks it involves distributor advance, but can't spend the money to fix it. Starts right up, though. Interior solid, but rear deck area is rusty; leak in tailgate seal. Windshield wipers do not work; the wiper motor is fine, but the plastic part that links the motor to the arms is broken. Front end shimmies at highway speed sometimes (possibly ball joints?). Exhaust manifold leaking; have a brand new one to replace it, along with an extra cylinder head (with gaskets). Also, some extra parts, including: NOS front turn signal lens, dash pad cap (new), blower motor (A/C and heat do not work, but all original parts still intact), auxiliary analog clock (not installed, but easily done), Volare emblems (not intstalled, but in great shape), and some other items lying about (including a complete keyless entry system I was planning on installing, brand new). Sad to see it go, but too much going on, can't afford to keep it anymore. Would be good parts car, but hopefully someone can keep it on the road; it's a survivor. Has a clear title; again, was my daily ride since 2010. Not a great photographer, so if you want some specific photos, just let me know, and I'll shoot 'em for you. Thanks!
