This car is a Fiberfab California Speedster Replica that I built 22 years ago with my certified Volkswagen mechanic , professional upholsterer and body shop assemble in the 90’s engine now currently titled as a 1972, smog exempt Volkswagen. This car is registered in California as a specially constructed vehicle with 1972 VW engine, and there are no problems with inspections. It is the bidder’s responsibility to determine conformance with your state’s registration and inspection requirements. This car is sold as is, where is. There are no warranties, expressed or implied. Shipping is the successful bidder's responsibility. Upon competition In 1992, essentially all parts were new or reconditioned. Built primarily as a nice cruiser and car show competitor of 13 1st and 2nd place car show trophies, this award winner is a great car for the weekends and even a daily driver. Always kept in a covered garage or carport, this Speedster has never seen rain, and has less than 5,500 original miles on a new motor. There is no doubt in my mind that this is one of the coolest 356 clones on the market. this car comes equipped with a very low mileage 1600 VW engine, Four speed transmission, custom upholstery 914 Factory bucket seats, Blk Convertible soft top, Blk convertible top boot, custom wheels, and with proper badging and emblems. 3 way custom stereo system and alarm system. Everything in or on the car is in wonderful working order, Engine runs very strong, Transmission shifts perfectly, Working power antenna and wipers, and all VDO gauges work accurately and light up. Additionally, all replaced parts and components are OEM from VW. The interior is completely custom. There is very little heat and no A/C. In the past six months items on this Speedster has been replaced: All new sparkplugs New headlights New side mirrors New Shifter New Battery Carburetor Adjusted, Cleaned, and Replaced Filter Full Break Service Including Removal and Cleaning Oil Change Smog exempt clear titled There was over $18,000 spent on parts and labor to build this car, and you can own it at a fraction of that.
