YOU ARE BIDDING ON A TOTALLY RESTORED, GORGEOUS 1968 Empi Imp #506- MInt. FUN!! Right & Tight! 1968 Empi Imp #506 built & titled on a 1963 VW Bug platform. Totally rebuilt. 1252 miles since total rebuild. Everything works like it should. Comes with VW tow bar. Empi made quality aftermarket VW parts in the 1960's. This was their offering to the bustling dune buggy market at the time. What makes the Imp different than the Manx and its clones is the fact it only shortened the VW pan by 12" instead of 14-1/2", which gave it a smoother ride. Also adding to its appeal is its low, swoopy sides, which make it easier to enter/exit. Do a search for Emp Imp, and you'll see what I mean! My son and I built this as a father/son project, and we had a wonderful time. Everything has been done right, with a lot of the work done by a Professional (and very talented) VW mechanic. Every nut, bolt, bearing, bushing, wire has been replaced or restored. We've cruised the backroads, driven in parades, taken curious kiddos on rides, taken the wife on dates, and even used the Imp as our driver when the other cars were not available! We've loved every minute of it!! Now that my son (and his younger sister) are getting older, we unfortunately must sell our beloved Imp to buy cars for our teenagers. :-( Someone is going to get an INCREDIBLE, unique vehicle!! Has original 10" Empi Sprint Stars on the rear & repro 5' Sprint Stars on the front Has original Empi Imp badge on the back & a recast on the front- powder coated chrome/clear to match the roll cage & engine tin New green metalflake gelcoat. 4 Point Rollcage attached to the pan. PRP Roadster seats. 3 point Empi Seatbelts. Pan & chassis coated with POR 15. Line-X on floor pan Converted to 12 volt/alternator. Windshleld wiper motor rewound for 12v. Totally rewired. Gas tank cleaned & sealed. New stainless gas line run through the tunnel. VDO sending unit. Late 60's model Speedo has fuel gauge. Works great . New Stainless Headlights from TJ Kustoms. N.O.S. correct Hella front turn signal lights. VERY hard to find!!! Healthy 1776 dual port w/ scat C20 cam, 34 pict3 w/ bigger jets/accel pump 009 distributor. No flat spot. .Scat sand seal pulley.
