Vehicle Detail

1958 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible. This car has been stored outside, under a carport since 1970. It was last licensed in Oklahoma in 1970. The mileage on the odometer shows 2777 miles, but I would surmise that the mileage is actually 102777, I have no way of knowing. I have owned the car since the late 70's. It was going to be a restoration project for my wife, but life sometimes dictates other paths that we must follow. The Cadillac has Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Front Bench Seat, Power Windows, Power Top and Remote Side Mirror. The body is straight and has no sign of any collision damage. The car has never been repainted, so there is nothing to hide as far as rust (other than surface rust) on any of the body panels, inner or outer rockers, or trunk pan. there is rust through on the right rear floor pan, but not under the seat risers. There is a little body damage on the right rear lower quarter. Also some idiot drilled holes and put side marker lights front and rear. The firewall is solid as are the inner fender panels. The bottom of the doors, the underside of the hood and decklid show no signs of rust. Overall a very solid starting point for a concourse restoration, or a resto-mod with a supercharged LS-6 Cadillac Engine or a nice Kustom. The motor does not turn over with a battery. I thought maybe the valves were stuck, so I removed the valve covers and rocker arms and could turn the motor a short ways with a screwdriver on the flywheel. The motor will need to be rebuilt as there are spark extenders on the spark plugs, so I would think that it was using oil, may have been the reason it wasn't being driven. All matching numbers. Great color combo, Black Paint, Black and White Interior, Black Top.
