Vehicle Detail

This Auction is for a 1966 Kaiser Willys Jeep Dauntless 4 Wheel Drive with 21,772 original miles. This Jeep was acquired from an older gentleman who bought it new in 1967 as a utility vehicle for his family gas station at H. Kennys Exxon on Kiem Street, in Pottstown. The engine runs good, It does not smoke or knock. It runs and drives under its own power. The engine is barely broken in. If you look inside the engine from the oil cap theres No varnash, it looks clean and like new yet,(see Pic) Herb had it fitted with a custom made push bumper the day he got it that is still on to this day. It never went far from the gas station and was used to push and pull cars and clear snow from the pumps. Hence it has very low miles. I have known this vehicle since I was a kid and knew Herb personally. Herb use to hang two tires over the bumper and push broken down cars back to the station or around on the lot. Thats back when you could push a car with out folding it in half. The inner rear fenders are all metal and the inner supports that are usually rotted out or missing are still there and intact. The front inner fender wells and fire wall look amazing. The under seat tool box is intact. Herb put a protector panel over the bed so it would not get dented from throwing things in the back and to prevent it from rotting out, If you look up from the bottom you can still see the original bed and the factory stamping. In 1978 Herb had the Jeep taken apart and painted brown because he liked the brown better. I have used it every now and then to run around the country side and have used it to run around on Assateague Island in Maryland on the reserve. It has spent most of its life either parked or in storage. Things to note, temp and fuel gauge are not hooked up, the floor flanges that most people rip off or fall off have a few holes in them but they are still there. The floors are remarkable, you can stomp on them. Where the floor seams meet the tub they are solid and intact There is not ten gallons of undercoat hiding stuff like most of them. single crack in windshield thats been there for 40 years, Not original tail gate, Herb had tire rack there. While it was painted once with some cosmetic repair here and there it is mostly metal. There are pictures of the tub with light weight magnets on the sides to show there is metal. It is not sculpted out of bondo. The Jeep is like a skate board with a jet engine on it. The steering feels tight yet, you can take your hands off the wheel and it goes straight. While it runs and drives, for safety it should be gone over mechanically before being put on road the due to being in storage so many years. I just replaced the original spark plugs last year. It may still even have the original brakes on it. New master cylinder 2 years ago. It has the old school side steps. The tires were replaced only a few years ago and are heavy with tread 90 plus percent. (see pic) This is an Antique/Classic vehicle. Due to its age it is being sold As-Is Where-Is for restoration. It may have signs of and or wear, tear, fade, haze, age, cracking, swirl, weathering, nicks, dents, rust, chips and may require service, parts, repair and or maintenance, replacement of any and all components. This is being sold with a notarized bill of sale which is all that is required in many states to apply for title and registration for vehicles of this age ,as many states did not issue titles before 1972. This was bought as a utility vehicle from a dealer in a state that did not issue titles back when this was new. Please check with the rules for your state. If your state requires title there are online title companys that will process a title for you with a bill of sale. If you live in a state that exempts title requirements for vehicles this age, then your ready to go and you know what I,m talking about. This Jeep is beautiful. In many ways it is a remarkable survivor. You could buy one of these for $1,800 thats been in a barn or pulled out of a field and spend thousands on floors and body work, and still have a Jeep that doesn,t run. Or you can start with this. A low mileage Jeep with a known history. I try to price things very reasonable as most things are usually sold via (Buy it Now) within a short time of being listed. I have perfect feedback on vehicles (read it) so bid with confidence. Good luck bidding.
