Vehicle Detail
Well what can I say about her? I bought her for a parts car for my 1959 Lark VI, we got to the house unloaded the car gave it an exterior wash and what I thought was a ton of surface rust rinsed away to the original paint. There was quite a bit of dust and tree sap. If you look at the pics there is rust through on the front fenders both sides, the chrome is pitted, all the trim is on the car I believe the only missing badge is the T/T logo for the twin traction positraction rearend. Look I am going to suffer sellers remorse for a long time on this if she sells....my health isnt the best and I am not wanting her to go to waste, and I would starve before I scrapped her out. The 259 V8 is stuck, I firmly believe it isnt locked up...The motor was full of clean oil and the radiator was full of anti-freeze when I got her. I removed the heads and intake, and when I got to the push rods one was wedged under the rocker arm where it slipped out and made its way to the wrong end of the rocker. I havent torn the short block down or honed the cyinder walls but when I put my Micrometer in the cylinder wall I could not detect any measureable wear. the odometer reads at 76,250 miles, not sure of accurracy but the last time this baby was titled was in June 11th,1980...the odometer reading for the title was at 71,000 miles then.... I am and have since buying her believed that the rocker arms were out of adjustment and the pushrod wedged where I found it and the owner gave up and sent her to the junkyard....other damage is on the passenger side front floor board where the pan meets the firewall there is a fist size hole rusted there, the floor pans may take a patching, I believe the rocker panels are solid enough,(I have seen floor pans for approx $59 ea on ebay, and rocker panels for less than $100/set, the front two seats are bucket style, possibly out of a Hawk??? not sure, someone told me they thought they were out of a sixties mustang, but I found similar seats in Hawks YOU NEED A TRAILER, FLAT BED HAULER...ANYTHING TO GET THE CAR OFF THE ROAD..IT DOESN'T RUN, ALL FOUR TIRES ARE FLAT, LOCAL PICKUP ONLY, WILL PUT OTHER TIRES ON TO ASSIST WITH LOADING BUT THEY MUST COME BACK OFF....THERE IS IN NO WAY A WARRANTY IMPLIED ANYWHERE HEREIN....WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET!!!
