Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1975 Pontiac Grandville Brougham with only 68,505 original miles. What makes this particular model year special is that it was the last line of convertibles that Pontiac made in the 1970s. Only 4,500 were ever made, and only a fraction of those originals survive. This two-owner car starts right up, and drives nice and smooth, as you would expect from a top-of-the-line mid-1970s Pontiac. This classic convertible is a real head-turner, so expect a lot of attention when you drive it anywhere. Get used to having people ask you if you'd like to sell it. As you can see from the photographs, this garage-kept car is in nice condition considering that it's almost 40 years old. The car has the original 400 cubic inch engine and automatic transmission, including power steering, power breaks, power windows, power seats, and original am/fm stereo. All buttons and gages appear to be in working order. The car has been recently re-painted the original Arctic Blue color, and it has some nice custom pin striping added on. Both the air conditioning and heater have been serviced and repaired recently, and both work as they should. The white convertible top was replaced less than 4 years ago, and it's in nice condition. The blue vinyl "boot" that covers the roof when it's down is in good shape. The white vinyl interior looks good--it shows some minor cracks on the driver's seat and could use a deep cleaning. Other than that, the interior is in good condition and all original. The dash is generally in nice condition aside from one split that has been reasonably well repaired. The glass looks good all around. The chrome polishes up well, and looks nice and shiny, but has the beginnings of minor oxidation in a few places. Currently, the car has custom chrome rims, but the original stock rims that originally came with the car will be included with the car upon sale. The carpeting is in overall decent condition, with some signs of wear and fading. The plastic center console between the front seats it cracked in the back. The rear trunk is carpeted with a spare and jack, and underneath the trunk pan shows some surface rust which is very common for cars of this vintage. The four tires on the car show moderate wear with plenty of tread still on them. The dual exhaust with the chrome tips has had the glass pack mufflers removed, so this car has a really nice rumble to it. The engine compartment looks pretty clean, and the under carriage looks good too with very little sign of any kind of rust. The exterior body looks straight and clean. Some clear silicone caulking has been used along the top of the windshield chrome frame to stop an old leak--but the car interior itself is dry. This car does have the original owner's manuals. The Original Fender Tag reads as follows: Line 1: ST75 2BR57 PON54 9796 BDLine 2: TR 92Y 24 11R PVLine 3: 046Line 4: A65 The Radiator Cowl has the following stamped on it: 495996E A20 75 This vehicle is being sold "As Is" and "Where Is" with no warranty. The buyer is responsible for picking up the car from the seller or for arranging for a third party to ship the car. A non-refundable $500.00 downpayment via PayPal is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The remaining balance of the sale price must be received within 7 days of the end of the auction via PayPal, certified cashier's check, or cash upon pick up. Failure to pay the balance within the time allotted will result in the loss of the $500.00 downpayment. After reading the vehicle description carefully, if you feel you have further questions, please send me your questions, and I will do my best to answer them to the best of my knowledge. If you want to inspect the car personally or have a third party do so, I will be more than happy to help you arrange that.
