Vehicle Detail

Have to sell my truck - can't keep two! This is a VERY unique and (in my opinion) desirable truck. Everything is manual on this truck: the transmission, the transfer case, the locking hubs, the diesel injector pump, the windows / locks, EVERYTHING. I looked long and hard to find this setup - nothing to break! Additionally, it has the 6.9L IDI Diesel engine mated to a 088 ATS Turbo kit- professionally installed and functioning perfectly. It's no wheel spinning powerhouse, but this ol girl will surprise you with the torque and power available, right off idle. The truck started life as a "John Riggin's" edition F250 single rear axle (yes-John Riggin's the football player). The original owner had the full ton rear end installed at the dealership, converting it to dual rear wheels in the process. The rear fenders are fiberglass and color matched perfectly. What a setup... can't believe I'm letting it go! I beleive that I'm the second owner, though you may want to verify this via carfax or other registry. The original owner (as far as I know) died, leaving the truck to his brother. I purchased it from the brother. He lived way up in the mountains in North Carolina - beautiful place, but what a PITA to get there for this truck! Needless to say, it was worth it and I've used it to pull my camper up and down the east coast and finally to my home here in Michigan. I have had it for about 2 years, maybe a bit less. My son and I decided we'd like to camp in a class B motorhome, so hence the sale! During my ownership I put two new front tires on it and had the front rotors, pads, wheel cylinders, and lines replaced. I also had the rear wheel cylinders done and had the front hubs rebuilt. The total bill was about $1200. I also replaced all the fluids (four times in the case of the engine oil, twice for the coolant). I use full synthetics in all my stuff. I just think it's worth the extra few dollars. As a note: I did use the proper additive in the coolant in order to prevent cavitation. The new owner should have no gremlins waiting to pop their ugly little heads! The inside is very nice; clean, straight, no tears, etc. I replaced all the weather stripping so she rides quiet on the highway. The truck does have a rear hitch and a fifth wheel hitch mount. I've never used either because my camper was a slide-in (fit in the bed). If you plan to pull something, this thing aught to work wonders. She really has a surprising amount of power with that turbo! I usually averaged around 20mpg when not toting my camper, and around 17 with it in the bed. I think this is slightly above average for these trucks. Issues: The paint is pretty ugly. I started to buff it out on the hood and driver's side and it was coming out really good - but gosh darn is that a lot of work! I gave up because... well because it's a truck and I don't care how shiny it is! If the new owner so desired, I'm sure you'd get you monies worth hiring one of the buff and polish detailing shops to do her up! On the front driver side of the truck their is some damage from a bump somewhere in it's past. It doesn't effect the hood or the lights or the door or any other body panel alignment whatsoever. It's just cosmetic- and not too bad looking really. To make it perfect, you'd want to replace the front bumper, left grill, and pull out or replace the driver fender. But really I wouldn't bother (obviously!) but there it is in case the new owner fancies it perfect. The parking brake is inoperable. I took a look at it and it need new cables. Those are a bugger to replace, FYI. I priced it from Ford at around $125. I just carry wheel chocks. Other than the aforementioned- I don't think any problems exist nor are lurking around the corner. The truck is look for a buyer that appreciates the configuration: 6.9L IDI, 088 ATS turbo, T-18 manual transmission, Warn manual locking hubs, manual transfer case with 2-high/4-high;4-low, dual rear wheels, full floating rear axle, 1-ton axles, manual windows/door locks, etc... That's where the value is! By the way, that 4-low combined with 1st gear and the torque of that big diesel will let you crawl up the side of the mountain while idling! Serious inquires send me a message with your phone number and lets chat. If you're local, come take a test ride! If you not local, I can help with shipping insofar as loading or dropping at a facility, but that's it. Good luck with your bids - this is no reserve!!!
