I have decided to sell my beloved little '88 Subaru Justy. I drive a newer Subaru now, and it has been my back up and planed project car. I have not needed it or driven it in over a year. Before that, I drove it a lot, because of the GREAT fuel economy and the fun factor.(feels zippy and agile, even if your not going very fast) I have not had the time or need for it for a while, so I am deciding to sell it, so someone else can enjoy it, they are getting rare. I am starting it off cheap, and with no reserve, so get your bid in! 1.2L 3-cylinder, EF12 J12 carbureted engine, 4x4, manual Good:-45mpg! I was getting that last time I drove it. It was great! Some people claim to get 50mpg or more!-Strong Clutch, 5 speed manual-Nice tires, great for snow!! -4x4, true four wheel drive, not just "all wheel drive (AWD)" Has a push button to engage, so it's more fuel economic front wheel driving when you don't need the 4wd. -Works GREAT in the snow, or any less then ideal traction. Go look on youtube for some videos of justys in action!-Suspension is in great shape, and handles well.-Sits much higher then other cars its size with 4 wheel drive, so it would be good for off roading.-After sitting for over a year, it started right up, and was able to drive fine!-Hatch back is handy, and makes for easy loading and unloading, I miss that on my new car!-Comfortable for a tall person! I am 6'4" and although this car looks very small, I sit very comfortably in it, probably because of the hight of the car, and the amount of foot and head room.-Clean and clear title. -Parts are mostly common, those that are not can be found online at great sites like Dustys Justys.-Performance upgrades available, justy's come with about 70 horsepower, but with upgrades they can get 130hp with stock internals. I saw one person claim to get 200 with the turbo they added(that's insane and hardly believable). Bad:-Needs a battery, current one is dead, jump started fine, but no juice to restart on its own.-Tail light lenses have small holes in them, they work fine, and water does not seem to get in and break the bulbs, you can see it in the pictures.-Oil leaks, it burns oil, and leaks around the valve cover, and it gets onto the exhaust pipe, causing smoke. Also you can see it burns oil if you rev it up.-Breaks need a bleeding, it sat for a while, and the fluid was low.-Sense it sat, a few small things, like wiper blades, maybe a turn signal bulb, and such need replacing, I have a few extra small parts I am including with the car like that. Ugly:-Car needs a good cleaning, it looks much better when clean.-This little guy has some rust, and the clear coat is pealing on a lot of the paint job, the hood is oddly more rusty then most of it and has a small hole in it, but the car is solid and besides the hood, nothing to unreasonable for its age. It has a "bra" to cover the main hood hole.-The cooling fan has been wired to a switch so it can be turned on all the time, it can be switched back if you don't like this, but make sure you turn it on while driving!-Muffler system has been replaced with new pipe, which is great, but the catalytic converter was removed to add power and increase fuel economy(it did!), if your state does emission checks, it will not pass, here in Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois I know they do not check.-Because of the above it is loud.-Back seat has some damage, but a seat cover would be fine.-Gas in tank is old, from sitting for a year, still runs off it.-Dash is missing protective plastic cover, small detail, but still.-Has a lot of miles, shows 28,000, but I know its rolled over at least one time! Notes:-Because the battery is dead, and the breaks need bleeding, I would recommend picking it up with a trailer, or tow dolly.-I can deliver it for $2 per mile. -Because of the age, miles, and the fact I have not driven it in a while, I am selling this, as is, with no warranty.-Serious bidders only, a $200 non refundable deposit is due with in 48 hours to keep out those that are not.-Feel free to come check it out before you buy!
