Vehicle Detail
HERE'S AN EXCEPTIONAL OLD TRIUMPH. It's a 1972 TR5MX (TR5MXGH75362). This bike has a MONSTER 499CC single cylinder engine. The tank is a lightweight polished aluminum and unlike the rest of the Triumph TR5's you see, this one has the airbox and side plates. It is all original. I believe the tires are even original and they're in great shape. This is a rare bike and it was a beast in it's day. My Grandpa bought it brand new and it has been in our family ever since. NEEDS: The bike needs a few things like all vintage bikes. The carburetor needs rebuilt and the bike could use new points or a new ignition system. The bike ran last fall but the fuel was left in it so it doesn't run now. The bike has great compression and a strong motor. Other small needs: new fuel petcocks, new brake rod nut, fork seals, and the rubber seal that runs from the carb to the filter. The bike has dents on both sides of the front of the gas tank, and yes it does leak some oil. Besides a few minor things this is a great and rare vintage dirt bike. I will ship the bike but there will be a fee for putting the bike on a pallet and the buyer must setup the shipping. Payment is due within 7 days of the end of the auction, and a deposit must be made within 24 hours of the end of the auction. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.On Jul-08-13 at 14:37:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I've received a lot of questions about the title. There is no title because there was not one given at the time of sale in 1972. Indiana does not require one. A bill of sale will be provided. Thank you. From the Indiana BMV website:In Indiana, off-road vehicles (ORVs) that are less than five (5) model years old must be titled with the BMV. If you have recently purchased or received as a gift an ORV less than five (5) model years old, you must title it in your own name within thirty-one (31) days of purchase to avoid a delinquent title fee.An ORV that is currently at least five (5) model years or older may be titled voluntarily
