Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1957 Chevy Pickup. I began the project some months back, but have acquired a business that takes all of my time, and it's just not fair to the truck. This is the ultimate rat rod or project to restore. It is 100% steel and straight, above and below. From underneath, it is all solid: no holes, no rotting. My friend owns a street rod shop, and he has the 235 straight six running like the day it came from the factory. Starts up the first time, every time, and idles smooth. No need for the choke. I drive it every day, and it runs strong, local, or on the highway. Rebuilt carb, engine, manifold gaskets, bushings, king pins, clutch, fuel gauge, new sending unit. All gauges work, including speedo and odometer. Horn works, all lights work, even brights. Brand new alternator. New, large, original, steering wheel. New glass, weatherstripping, door rubbers. New Hurst floor shifter (3 speed) with boot and chrome frame. All new belts and hoses. New (cheap-o) tail lights. New hood springs, rear view mirror. New side view mirror. All steel body. Brand new tires. New brake and clutch pedals, (new gas pedal, not installed yet). I have lots and lots of parts that I bought but haven't installed: hood bumper set, hood cowling, driver's side window regulator (brand new in the box--$200), headlight gaskets, gas filler gasket. I replaced the cab corners, sanded and primed and painted.. Same with the lower fender corners. I have extra metal from Ecklers. There are three or four minor dents (see photos); the largest is about 10 inches long. The bed has a piece of rusty steel that was spot welded on when new. Under that is a rotting wood bed, but as far as I can see, the frame cross members are all there. I put new carpet in the cab, but did a half-ass job. The cab interior was just painted: three coats of a nice blue, and two coats of clear. Looks beautiful. Just had the entire vehicle professionally painted Hot Rod Black. I've put thousands into it, and I'm willing to take the loss. It's a helluva ride as is, or work on it yourself to turn into a show winner. I have been with ebay for 15 years, with a 100% perfect history. I tell it like it is, with no BS. This 57 is ready to ride right now; cruising, car shows, etc. This one is the real deal. Give her a good home. Whoops...just noticed that they left out interior pix...so here they are. I also just listed the truck locally for this last weekend., so if it sells or gets a price, I will remove from eBay. Thanks.
