This sale is for a complete unmolested/unrestored 1979 AMC Spirit AMX. This is a Super low production car. This is a one year only. Although the Spirit AMX was made in 1980 a V8 was no longer an option. I have had this car saved and was in my personal collection awaiting a total restoration. I have too many projects and am slowing down. It was either this or the CGE Racing Edition Pacer. Choice made. This is an original A/C car with the 304 V8 and 4 speed manual transmission and console. Other options include tilt and power door locks even an AM/FM/CB. The interior is nice and complete. Carpet looks new. Paint colors make or break many cars. The Black exterior color w/Black interior on a Spirit AMX is the best choice and make it a winner. This is a very nice builder. The car runs and stops but isn't a driver. The fuel smells old although Stabil was added to the fuel when parked. It has been stored for several years in an aircraft hanger and will need fresh fuel and the proper wake up/tuneup etc. maybe more. The car is solid only having one visable spot on the outer passenger rocker panel. The car was undercoated by the sticker on the door. I have an nos panel I will let go with the car. Also available but not included is a 1990 Mustang GT 5 Spd transmission that will bolt in place of the original 4 Spd currently in the Spirit AMX. This would make a great upgrade. VERY IMPORTANT The AMX has the correct original data tag and consumer info decal on the door also you can see the factory undercoat sticker. Often the doors were replaced on these cars and with it goes the original documentation to the car. No worries here. *I know a person who I have always considered to be a friend who has the correct side of the two piece front spoiler this car could use. I still speak to him daily although he no longer has the 78 Gremlin GT that I sold him cheap 26 years ago to help him out with a nice driver...he really needed. I was the one who gave him the spoiler too....and took payments! To help him out. After several years of begging he won't help ME out! No way. Just another reason to sell the AMX. If you are the new owner will forward your info to him. That is if he is still speaking to me after calling him out. He may give it to you....just not to me. Thanks Greg! The car will need a total restoration to be mint. Consider this a project...and a great start! If your plans are driving it home please use common sense. No matter what kind of mechanic you are go ahead and bring a trailer for your safety and to the AMX. **QUESTIONS ** If you have a question please use the ebay ask a question tab. Many times I am asked to call someone when simple things can be addressed through email. It is just easier for me due to my schedule. Keep in mind the vehicle is not parked in my living room. I urge any so called experts to come and see the AMX in person before posting any online apprasial,comments etc. Without laying a hand on the car. If it is important enough for you to do so.
