Vehicle Detail

All original 1978 Honda 750 Hondamatic in very good condition. This bike was a daily commuter for an older gentleman who serviced it religiously and kept it in excellent cosmetic shape. The paint is original and shines nicely, the chrome is excellent, and the tires are like new. I am the third owner and have kept it in my collection since I purchased it six years ago, riding it on day cruises throughout the Pacific Northwest in the summer months. The overall appearance of this bike is really remarkable and it runs, shifts and handles fine. If you are unfamiliar with these bikes, the Hondamatic has a semi-automatic transmission. You simply select low or high gear and off you go...there is no clutch to fool with. It has an inline air cooled four cylinder engine, with factory 4 into 2 exhaust. With 750 cc's it can keep up with traffic around town or on the highway. Plus, it is great for driving in cities with hills, especially when stopped in traffic heading up an incline. Just brake and go, since there is no shifting required. There is a blemish on the lower right side of the tank, and a tear on the lower left side of the seat which I covered with black tape (see photos) rather than replace a seat cover that is in otherwise great condition. After sitting, the bike tends to be cold blooded. There is a loud clack from the torque converter when first engaging the electric start, and clatter when idling which goes away when the choke is applied. It does not interfere with the working ability of the bike. Once warmed up, the bike runs and idles smoothly as you can see from the YouTube video. (VIEW ON YOUTUBE at http://youtu.be/-_PGpnMPMos or search "1978 Hondamatic 750A For Sale Seattle" on YouTube.) The bike comes with a removable sissy bar/luggage rack, as well as the original owners manual, tool kit, and emergency kick starter which are located under the seat. It has a clear title and is ready to ship to a new home. I have attempted to give as honest a representation of this motorcycle as possible and have provided pictures from every angle, as well as a video walk around and drive around on YouTube. As with any bike that is 35 years old, there may be blemishes, scuffs and/or minor flaws that may not show up in pictures. I welcome any questions that you may have, and encourage any bidders to inspect the motorcycle personally or enlist the services of a professional inspector. I will assist any freight company that you select, and endeavor to make the entire transaction efficient and positive. TERMS; $500 DEPOSIT WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTION CLOSE CAN BE PAID USING PAYPAL.
