Mechanically sound car, daily driver. the over drive is interesting, why did't they just put a fifth gear in the gear box? when you are in 4th just flip a switch and it goes into 5th. very low revving on the freeway. 50ish k on a full engine rebuild. has old maaco paint job, pretty color but flawed. needs paint to be perfect little bits of rust near wheel well but repaired through the inside., couple dents and dings, you should paint it! the same color! . good glass, lots of good things on this car, a good paint job with a little body work would make it great again. Everything functions. Many parts are swappable with the 242 has 4 wheel disk brakes. all the fuel injection components are new old stock, ELECTRONIC throttle position sensor, fuel injectors, cold start valve. the block and head are painted nice red from the rebuild. doesn't burn any oil fires right up even after sitting for weeks and gets 30mpg, this is an extra car that I received as a favor. Sat under a coat of moss for 10 years. i don't need it and my cousin doesn't either. brakes are good, tires are new. drives straight and comfortable. fluids are fresh and has a good stereo. needs a couple things but nothing an every day joe couldn't fix. there also is a vintage Volvo place in ballard to get parts, altho NAPA carries a lot of mechanical parts for these. never pay for tabs again... collector car A lot of people turn these into race cars... "It has electronic fuel injection. B20E. Only offered for 1970 and 1971, the B20E features a higher 10.5:1 compression ratio, larger intake valves and ports for fuel injectors. It was Volvo's hottest push rod engine." consSeat belts are not wanting to extend. haven't looked into it. car has a lean miss on occasion, this can be fixed by the adjustment of the throttle position sensor or an adjustment of the fuel pressure regulator. running a little lean is good for fuel economy. Front seat adjustment is wanly, stupid design but fixed with a zip tie. Needs the aluminum strip down the length of the car. looks like it was never reinstalled after the paint job. im sure the place in ballard can help with this or there are generic ones that can be cut and mounted. easy peasy. I have many projects and was never interested in this one, good car, very rare car, solid. I'd like a new parking spot.
