Vehicle Detail

1992 Cadillac Brougham d’Elegance finished in Dark Maple metallic History: 2nd owner. The first owners purchased the car new in the fall of 1991 at Delaware Cadillac located in Wilmington, Delaware. I purchased the car at the same dealership in February 2006 after the original owners traded it in (at that time it had 34,000 miles). The car has always been garaged and has 54,600 original miles. No accidents. All original rust-free body. The car was never smoked in. Options: The d’Elegance package includes the optional upgraded 5.7L V8 as well as the button-tufted premium leather interior. 1992 is the final year for this classic body style, and only about 10% of the ‘92s received the d’Elegance package at the factory in Arlington, TX. The Cadillac Dealership installed a trunk-mounted 10-disc CD changer. The factory radio gets tuned to 89.1 fm to hear the CDs. There is a remote under the dash to control the CD player. All power equipment is working properly. Dual 10-way power seats (includes power reclining option). Power windows. Power locks. Cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel. Auto headlights with delay. Automatic climate control with outside temp display. Air conditioning was just converted to a new 134a system last week at a cost of nearly $1700. It blows COLD!!! Dual power heated mirrors. Yes, even the power antenna is working fine! Automatic trunk lid pull-down. Rear defroster. Anti-lock brakes. Front armrest console with cup holder and coin holder. Int. wipers. Maintenance: I have records and receipts dating back to 2006 that total over $5,000. This Caddy has been treated like a member of the family and it has gotten attention as needed. I changed the oil myself religiously and documented in the owner’s service manual. I also have a Haynes repair manual and the official GM/Cadillac ’91-’92 Brougham shop manual which will be included. The original tool for removing the hubcaps and changing a tire is stored in the glovebox. The spare has never been out of the trunk. 3 sets of keys, 2 sets being original gold Cadillac keys. Below is an outline of what has been done to the car since I have owned the car, all receipts will be provided to the new owner: 2006 – Upper radiator hose replaced New heater core 2007 – Exhaust work including new catalytic converter and resonator Transmission fluid flushed New Serpentine Belt New Water Pump Cooling system (radiator) flushed 2008 – New Radiator installed 2011 – Driver’s door window motor replaced Upholstery shop replaced headliner and rear quarters (fabric panels above back seat) 4 New Hancook Radial Whitewall Tires at 52,000 miles (less than 3,000 miles on tires now) Front end alignment New idler arm 2012 – New muffler New battery installed Dec. 2012, 8-year pro-rated warranty Air filter replaced 2013 – Air conditioner conversion to 134A system, including new dryer and evaporator The engine runs excellent and always starts on the first turn of the key. Although it runs fine on regular gas, I ALWAYS put in plus or premium as an act of reverence. Up to 25MPG on highway trips. I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country tomorrow. That being said, it is twenty-one years old and is being sold with no warranty. The car has plenty of power, accelerates without hesitating, tracks straight down the road, and stops smoothly. Transmission is smooth as you would expect of a low-mile car. The engine compartment has purposely not been detailed. The pictures show exactly how it has sat in my garage. Interior: The interior is simply pristine. As noted above, the headliner was replaced. The leather and door panels have been detailed regularly and are in showroom condition. The deep-pile carpet and original floor mats are also as new. The factory mats were only used on special occasions. I had a set of other maroon mats that I used most of the time as well as a set of rubber mats just in case we got caught somewhere in the rain. The dash is also in perfect condition with no cracks or fading. Again, all the buttons work as they should. No stains, no rips, no holes, no funny smells!! I am very picky about all of my cars, but this one especially. Hopefully the pictures will show the interior will not disappoint. The inside of the trunk is also in mint condition. Original Cadillac-emblem trunk mat which I have covered over with a maroon rug for protection as seen in the pictures. Exterior: All original panels, all original glass, all original paint. No rust. Starting from the top…the vinyl top has always been treated with a special conditioner. It does not have any cracks or splits. The windshield has one tiny chip about the size of a pencil tip which has been there since I bought the car. All other glass is perfect. All the paint is original and it still shines nicely. I just waxed it with the 3-stage Meguiar’s products. The trunk lid and hood still shine beautifully but have some small imperfections that can only be seen when you are looking up close at certain angles which is common with all dark colored vehicles. The clear coat is fully intact and not peeling. The driver’s rear quarter panel has one tiny ding (paint not cracked). The passenger front door has two tiny chips in the paint below the mirror. Chips are pencil tip sized and I have not touched them up…just waxed so rust did not form. The chrome is in fair to good condition. Back bumper, door trim, and tops of mirrors have some minor surface pitting which barely shows up in the pictures. Front bumper and grill are excellent. The silver/gray painted trim has been touched up in several places. The touch ups are along the bottom edge of the car just above the chrome strip and are not visible unless you are laying down on the ground. I would rate the overall exterior appearance an 8.5 out of 10. The car draws lots of attention and receives compliments each time I stop for gas, etc. If you are looking for this model Cadillac that you can drive and enjoy, this may be the one for you. It is ready for parades, cruise-ins, or Sunday drives. The mechanicals are excellent and the a/c is ready to tackle the upcoming summer heat!! Normal 0 false false false EN-US ZH-CN X-NONE On Jun-24-13 at 11:48:11 PDT, seller added the following information:There was a question about the original cassette tape player that is built in to the factory radio. I had never used it and we tried it out when an individual came to see the car on Sunday. It did not work. Today I cleaned the inside of the tape deck with some silicon spray lubricant and the tape deck began working immediately. I think a mechanism was perhaps just stuck from lack of use. So, once again, the tape deck is indeed working properly. On Jun-27-13 at 13:03:00 PDT, seller added the following information:Dear Bidders, I have had a huge response to my Fleetwood. I have been answering several emails each day and at last count over 100 eBayers have the car on the "Watch List". I have had several inquiries about a Buy It Now option. I am planning to let the auction run it's course to the end. The car was evaluated by a member of the Cadillac club and he estimated the value to be in the 13-15k range. The reserve is however set at a figure that is much less. I will be checking the messages frequently so please contact me if you have any questions or if you would like to come test drive the car this coming weekend. Good luck and Happy bidding! On Jun-30-13 at 10:14:36 PDT, seller added the following information:With less than 48 hours left on the auction we are coming in to the home stretch. The bidding is getting close to the reserve, which is set at $9,000.On Jul-01-13 at 13:01:25 PDT, seller added the following information:Dear Bidders, a final update prior to the auction ending tomorrow morning. While showing the car over the weekend I noticed that the oil drain plug was dripping ever so slightly. To remedy this, I just finished changing the oil and filter, and I added a new washer to the oil drain plug. I double checked the cassette tape deck today and it is working intermittently, again I think from lack of use. If the tape deck is lubricated and a tape is played for an hour or so perhaps it will improve. I have only had it on for a couple of minutes with the car sitting in the driveway, so it has not really had a chance to work out the bugs yet. I will be home tonight. If anyone has any last minute questions please email me your phone number and I will return your call. Thanks.
