Vehicle Detail

First of all, thank you for viewing my auction. After being disappointed by the mostly ratty other Mustang convertibles and looking at this car, please feel free to message me. This car is the real deal...not a conversion, replica, fake, clone, etc!! This is a real C-code, 2 owner 65 convertible. Never left CA. Bought new at the famous Galpin Ford in Valencia, CA and been in dry southern CA its whole life. This car is un-restored...only things needed have been done as needed, since new. One repaint 20 years ago and still looks great with only minor wear. Bought from the 2nd owner ( a retired LAPD detective) who owned the car for 27 years and he purchased from the original owner.  You will be the 3rd owner of record of this beauty! Never a daily driver, always a second car and used on nice days and garaged since new. I am both a PS and TRS on ebay, which less than 1% of seller are, and have a 100% positive feedback score, so have no worries. I take pride and care with all my cars. Please take the time to allow the 200+ detailed photos and videos to load, it is worth the wait, and PLEASE read the entire description before asking questions (I know it is long, but I wanted to cover all bases!!) If you are serious, I know you will read every word, and look at every picture. This is the type of person I am looking for, not time wasters or low ballers. There is not a single overseas import part on this car. This car is priced for a quick sale to the discriminating enthusiast/collector that appreciates all the details and correctness and can still drive and enjoy it. Perfect advertising vehicle for your business too, and in some cases can even be a tax write off!.  FREE TO YOUR DOOR SHIPPING ANYWHERE IN THE LOWER 48 STATES IF BUY IT NOW IS USED by a licensed, bonded, and insured auto transport company I have used for years. I am listing this 1965 Mustang too sell fast, so it priced very well for what is. NADA book value Low $13,040, Average $29,060, High $46,920. I own a high end Mustang shop that has been in business for 19 years and am VERY particular and familiar with these cars. All original Ford body panels, radiator support, etc. Never any rust or damage. Even the original battery box is rust free! Car has never had rust. You will not find a more solid, un-restored car. All wiring is original to the car and never been spliced. No electrical draws even when sitting for 2 weeks, it still starts right up. All chrome and stainless steel is also all original, and looks very good for being 48 years old. There just aren't many un-restored Mustangs of this caliber out there, even at MCA shows! Car is a great, fun driver that is reliable and turns heads where ever you go. It is not a show car, but has done very well at shows. This car will continue to climb in value if kept in this condition. Survivors seem to be the new craze lately, like this car.  Enclosed to your door shipping available and very affordable, so no worries about bad weather if you live in a cold climate or in another country...you can have this car ready to drive when the weather allows!!  All weatherstrips and seals are good, as are all the body panels. Never any rust. All OEM Ford body panels with original stamps on each body panel. Top and plastic rear window look good...just usual wear marks from being down all the time. Most people wouldn't care as the top is always down when driven anyway! Top boot in great shape. Power top works perfect.  Never been put on a lift incorrectly, never been bottomed out. Look at the underside! No patch's on floorpans like many of the others out there. Look at the floor pans!!! You can even see the original drips in the red oxide primer. No bent body panels, floor pans, or frame rails. Original, correct X-rivet hood hinges and hood latch. Nothing missing.  All original Carlite correct glass (except pass door glass which does not say Carlite on it) including the windshield. Again, please take the time to look at the 200+ detailed pictures in this listing and a few videos. Ask questions if you have them if you are serious. In my 19 years in the Mustang business, I have NEVER seen a nicer, un-restored Mustang. I have owned over 1000 Mustangs, Shelby's, Big Block's, Boss's, Pantera's Saleen's, Roush's, Cobra's etc, mostly collector models, and few have been like this one from the get go. Even back up lights work!! What you see is what you get...it is all there and you can drive it anywhere with ease. It is a very tight, fun car to drive. With disc brakes and power steering, it is very easy to drive. It doesn't wander all over the road and has no problem barking the tires or driving over 70 MPH on the freeway. Oil has been changed every 3K miles or 6 months with the Mobil 1 10W 30. Even when stored, oil has been religiously changed every 6 months. It has always been started up and allowed to get up to operating temperature every few weeks, then driven around the block (weather allowing) to keep all seals lubricated and to keep everything in operating condition. No power steering moan like most have (all steering components also all rebuilt and do not leak!) Everything works. All lights, switches, and lighter still work!! Original optional chrome styled steel wheels look great. Car has a Chapman hood lock with key to unlock hood under dash. Tires are all matching size Remington white walls and are very smooth and quiet and are also like new.  All gauges and lights work like they should and are accurate. Original AM radio also comes with the car. Has a Pioneer CD player in glove box with remote and aftermarket speakers under the dash. Engine has plenty of oil pressure, and gas gauge is also accurate.. Like I stated before, there is not a single overseas, import parts on this car!! Components have only been replaced when needed with quality American made parts since new!! Original 289 V8 engine was rebuilt with a mild cam, heads have hardened seats installed for unleaded fuel, Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, 4V carburetor, electronic ignition, ceramic coated headers, and full duel exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. Engine sounds and runs fantastic with no flat spots, hesitations, and it starts right up, first time, every time and runs perfect on pump gas with no pinging or issues. Motor has less than 10K miles on it as does the C-4 automatic transmission which was also fully rebuilt with a new torque converter and shift kit. Noting leaks or seaps. Engine, trans, and rear end cost over $8K to have all rebuilt to perfection. Car has 117K original miles. Original owner owned the car until 88K miles.       Underside, and inside of wheels cleaned frequently since new as is the exterior and interior. Carpet has never been shampooed , and still looks good with no unraveling . I believe it is the original carpet still. Has rubber Pony floormats which are in great shape too. All interior lights also work including shift indicator in console and console lights. Car has also always been garaged, except when at events, but covered when possible. Original jack, tire iron, and mounting hardware all original and never used and look good with original stickers. Spare tire has great tread. Has spare tire cover and matching trunk bag. Last few pictures show the inside of the solid trunk with mat out, and the underside of the dash cowl, which is also rust free and does not leak! This car is impeccable for the price. No issues, and no modifications (other than intake, carb, and exhaust). No leaks or seeps. Never raced or driven by kids. Brakes all rebuilt and it has disc in the front and duel reservoir master cylinder . No gear noise or issues. Car runs and drives excellent and starts right up with no issues, first time, every time. It sounds fantastic and does not over heat, ping, hesitate, or have any issues of any kind. 200 pictures posted in this listing and videos. Before car is picked up or shipped, I will refinish the white metal interior door frames with fresh paint, replace console light lens with a new one, and install new back up light rubbers as they are missing as those details bother me. I also have a new passenger's side mirror that I will include with the car and a few other misc goodies. Car does not run hot at all. Belts do not moan or squeal like most old cars do. Car does not overheat even in 105 degree weather. Coolant changed every 2 years with proper green coolant and distilled water even when driven little.  I let the car idle for 45 minutes in 105 degree heat and it did not get 1/3 way on the temperature gauge. I then drove it to make sure there were no issues, pinging, or vibrations...no problems. Car runs great on 91 octane and does not ping. No exhaust leaks. Sounds fantastic!! It is very powerful and sounds great. Most of these cars don't drive as good as they look, this one does! Suspension is tight (all rebuilt) and car tracks down the road like new. Has larger front sway bar with polyurethane bushings and an aftermarket rear sway bar to increase cornering abilities. I have owned and driven many old Mustangs over the years, and most do not drive nearly as well as this one!! Car is meant to be driven and enjoyed. It actually drives VERY well. No hesitations, squeaks, smells, and is not all over the road like most. Suspension is responsive and tight (recently rebuilt), steering is tight. Brakes are adjusted properly, and the car stops well and straight. Car has always been garaged and most of the miles came from driving it on nice days a couple times per week and to several Mustang shows through-out the years. Never raced or abused and was never a daily driver (even when new it was a second car, driven on nice days only) . You are better off getting one of these cars that have been driven and properly maintained than one with super low miles that has not been properly stored or has dried up seals. Nothing leaks or seeps on this car (even rear main seal doesn't seep) and it burns no oil. Compression is with in 2% on every cylinder. Does not smell like un-burned gas from behind like most.  Car is perfectly tuned and balanced. Oil is nice and clean. Has plenty of oil pressure. Timing chain is tight. Starts right up, first time, every time. Idles smoothly with nice, deep exhaust sound. No hesitations. Everything is adjusted properly. Very smooth power. Gets good MPG too, surprisingly!! Brakes front and rear are firm and all rebuilt. All wheel bearings repacked. No shimmies, squeaks, or pulls when you step on the brakes. Parking brake works perfect. Car does not roll back when in neutral on an incline with parking brake on. If you don't care about a well sorted car like this one, buy another, this one is all there and quite correct!! Every area on this car has been gone through to be correct and functional and only parts were replaced when needed Never been smoked in, no stains, still smells fresh. Dash pad is not warped or cracked. All interior lights work. Doors close with a firm thud, not a ting. No rattles!! Ashtray and cigarette lighter never used, not even for coins or junk to mar the ashtray! All power options work perfect. All window regulators have been rebuilt and roll up and down smoothly with no clunks or skips. All windows operate smoothly like they should!! Speedometer works perfect and doesn't stick or bounce like most. All dash lights work. All signals and lights have original Ford scripting on them and work perfectly with no cloudiness or fading. See videos of all lights, operating. All lock cylinders are original to the car and work smoothly with no binds. I have owned over 1000 Cobras, Cobra R's, Saleen's, Pantera's, Boss's, Mach 1's, and Shelby's and am VERY familiar and extremely picky/anal with these cars!!  I know what to look at and what they are and were from new. Look at how well all the body panels and windows line up!! Look at the reflections in the really nice paint. Every correct clip, nut, bolt, rivet, plug, sticker, rubber bumper, etc is correct on this car!! This is not a clean up and sell, everything is as right as possible. Care, thought, a huge amount of time, passion, and attention to detail is present on every aspect of this car. You will not find a nicer 65 vert!! Car is available for inspection and can be driven or shipped anywhere. Out of country buyers welcome too, if you arrange shipping. I can have the car delivered to the Long Beach Port. Clear CA title in hand. Car is currently registered in CA thru June of 2014. Personalized plated " Elvis 21" come with the car as well as the original black and yellow 1965 CA plates. Enclosed to your door shipping available and very affordable, so no worries about bad weather if you live in a cold climate...you can have this car ready to drive when the weather allows!! I have used several reputable shipping companies that are insured and bonded over the years with no issues, and will be happy to arrange for a serious buyer. Don't wait, once this car is scooped up, it is gone and you will never find another like it!! Please email me with phone # and I will call you with any info you're requesting. I am not interested in any trades or people that want to sell this car for me. Car is tight with no rattles, leaks, etc.! The underside is as clean as the the rest of the car. The pictures speak for themselves. Please allow the time for the 200 pictures and videos to load, scroll down, and enjoy!! This is a beautiful car and PERFECTLY balanced as far as looks, safety, economy, handling, braking, comfort, reliability, sound, and performance!! The power steering is a must to enjoy these cars, which this car has, unlike most 65 verts.  Perfect car to be used in period movies too (movies companies will pay you for use). Re-live your childhood with something you didn't have the means to buy new (or weren't alive yet), replace one you used to own, or add another to your collection of other worthwhile cars. You can drive this car anywhere with no issues This is the most balanced 64.5-73 Mustang/Shelby you will ever drive. Transmission is smooth as silk with no grinds or difficulty to get into any gear and shifts firmly and perfectly. Shifter is not all wobbly. Brakes stop the car with ease and stops evenly and smoothly. Car is very easy to drive!! You will not find a nicer one for the money with this caliber of detail. These cars are very hard to find, let alone in this original condition. I took many pictures, including the underside, so you can see how well preserved this car is. All the original underside over spray, undercoat, markings, drips, stickers, etc are there!!! All markings, drips, swabs, scribbles, etc you see are original and untouched for THIS car. Any marking you see was on this car when it went down the assembly line. Original owner was fanatical about spraying the underside with silicone spray often and 50 weight oil which preserved the markings you see.  In the 60's and 70's, if you did not already know, assembly line workers went off the printed build sheet printed by Ford with color codes for each component needed for the specific assembly of car that they were building. Most parts had special colors on them to tell the workers what application it was for. Each body style with certain engines and transmissions would get different color coded parts. For example, a 200 CI six cylinder would have different markings on the drive shaft than a car with a 289, an automatic would have different markings than a 3 speed manual. Often a car with certain options such as power steering or a/c would have different parts yet again.  This is how the parts were identified for each car. Various inspection marks were applied by assembly line workers with their lines codes or numbers when components were completed. Obviously, 99% of restored cars out there no longer have these markings due to wear and tear, age, mileage, or rusty climates. It is VERY rare to find a car with the markings still. Quite a few "restorers" just add markings for the sake of it because they see similar markings on similar cars...not the case with this car...every mark, scribble, color, paint daub, crayon mark, line check code, OK marks, etc,  you see was on this car when new in their appropriate colors...  New: alignment, distributor cap, plug wires, hoses, spark plugs, belts, fuel and air filters, electric fuel pump, fluids, rebuilt window regulators, upper and lower control arms, spring perches, shocks, etc.  Windows and doors line up correctly and do not sag.  Complete interior is very nice. This is an original Pony interior car. Fog lights and GT rear valance were added by Galpin Ford when car was new (largest Ford dealer in the world then, and still now) where the car was sold new.  Seat foam is not crumbling on the carpet like most. Dash, bezels, door panels, rear panels, console, etc etc ALL original and in very nice shape. Heater works like it should. Rebuilt alternator, rebuilt starter, water pump, and power steering pump, ram and control valve have been professionally rebuilt. New sway bar bushings and end links. All suspension is tight and car tracks down the road like new. It is not all over the road like most you will drive. Car has been impeccably maintained and all services have been done before needed. Nothing overlooked! You can hop in this car and drive it anywhere. Any questions, please message me and I will respond promptly. This is a like to sell, not a must sell, or a desperation sale!! I have 30+ high end cars in my collection, so it is not the end of the world if this does not sell. Most are $100K+. If I can make some extra space in my warehouses, great, if not, I will keep it as I do love the car. I did a Buy It Now, so you don't have to bid and wait, and hope to get it. Outright price for this car is $29,900. There is no reserve. No taxes collected by me or any document fees like others charge. I choose to do Buy It Now, fixed price auctions over regular bid auctions because many people put on their watch list, then forget to bid at the last minute, then are upset that they missed the car!! Don't miss this one, you will never find another like it!! Deposit of $500 must be made immediately thru Paypal upon the use of BUY IT NOW and remaining balance due with in 3 days of winning car. Any questions and/or inspections if wanted must be made BEFORE using BUY IT NOW. Please do not use Buy It Now unless you already have the money. You are welcome and encouraged to come and inspect the car or send someone to look at it before bidding. I am not a dealer, so no sales tax will be collected by me. Car is sold as is with no warranty by me expressed or implied. Shipping must be arranged by the buyer from Palm Springs, CA 92262, or you are welcome to fly into Palm Springs International Airport and I will pick you up, and you can drive the car home. Search Ebay for transport companies if you want it shipped, or I can help arrange shipping for serious buyers. You will be surprised as how inexpensive it is the ship a car, even from coast to coast (around $800 if you shop around). I work with several shipping companies that offer very reasonable enclosed transport too as well as open. This car deserves to be shipped enclosed though in my opinion, but it is the buyer's decision. Car will not leave and title will not be sent until car is paid in full (and cleared) with either cash upon pick-up, direct deposit, loan check, or cashier's check/money order. Feel free to ask any questions and I will answer promptly. Check my feedback, I have sold several very high dollar ($200k+) cars on eBay with no problems and have a 2160+ positive feedback score and am not only a PS, but a TRS. Less than 1% of sellers have achieved this status selling on eBay, so you can trust how I describe what I am selling by the feedback I have received by those that have purchased from me that give these ratings.  I reserve the right to end this auction early as the car is advertised on several other sites and publications, so if you want it, use BUY IT NOW before someone else buys it!! If you can not meet these simple requirements, please do not use Buy It Now and waste your time, mine, and others that are serious. I can't STAND time wasters, or people that can't make up their mind!! I am VERY picky with cars I deal with and this will be the remaining vehicle from my collection I am considering selling!!! Again, I have 30+ cars and none are a must sell, just trying to free up some space as I can barely walk in my warehouses they are so full.  I am not interested in magazine coverage, picture collectors, or time wasters. This Mustang runs and drives excellent and has never been ricky raced or abused. There are no odd odors, odd rattles, or odd noises. Does not have that "old car smell" like many do inside. You can drive this car anywhere. Mileage may also vary minimally as car may be driven for test drives and/or inspections and I do drive it sometimes on beautiful days. Please feel free to ask questions and I will answer promptly. This is not your average $20K Mustang that you can find  that needs $30K+ worth of work and still won't be as nice as this car. This car is a no excuse, honest car, that needs nothing to enjoy as it is.. It will only continue to go up in value if kept in this condition or restored. Cars such as this from my lengthy experience are a much more solid investment than the stock market. They can only keep going up in value when in the condition and rarity of this one. There simply are none of these of this caliber out there. True collector quality, 2 owner, no excuse, survivor with a great history....you will be in heaven when you get the chance to drive and enjoy it. Remember, you get what you pay for, this car does not need ANYTHING!! The paint and color combination is simply stunning and the rare options make it a pleasure to drive. Check out my other listings for a 15K mile Saleen Cobra, a Supercharged F150, and soon a 1 owner 2004 Cobra convertible. Have a great day and thank you for looking and (hopefully) reading my long description..I just want to be thorough. Each time I think of something else, I revise the listing, add more pictures, and before I know it, it ends up this long!! Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool.
