I purchased this as a Certified Pre-Owned BMW from the dealer with 12,000 miles on it and have owned it for twelve years and driven it for 163,000 miles. This is the final year of the 12 cylinder in the e38 body style. I never liked the new BMW body style. This car has every available option on it in the 2001 model year including the rare M Sport Package with 18" M parallel spokes alloy wheels looking for 235/50 ZR18 in front and superwide 255/45 ZR 18 Michelin Pilot Sport in rear. Good tread remains on all 4. The car has special 3/8 thick security safety glass, massage front seats, sunshades on all windows including automatic telescoping in rear. I love this car and have maintained it impeccably over the years including regular oil changes and maintenance. Major improvements include having Erickson Industries (Connecticut) rebuild the factory ZF transmission and torque converter which was installed in 2010 ($7,500), upgraded the BMW Mach II Navigation system to a super-fast BMW Mach IV Navigation system (DVD driven) from a new M5 with a widescreen 4:3 display which is plug and play and fully integrated into the BMW controls ($1,800) and a new dual heater core installed in 2012. The car has been garaged but does have two small areas of rust. One is on the bottom corner of the passenger-side door and the other is on the passenger side rear fender well lip. Performance Electronics in NH has installed a K40 Radar detector and laser jammer ($2,400). Completely concealed and detects and jams up front and detects from the rear. Saved my butt many times as I drive the highway a lot. Works great. So why am I selling?? After driving "The Ultimate Driving Machine" for many years I finally got excited when I test-rode the Tesla Model S. I bought one and it is due to be delivered soon. Unfortunately, Tesla does not offer a fair trade-in program since they are based in California and I am in Massachusetts so I decided to sell it directly to someone who will enjoy it. Very reasonably priced with a low reserve and a low Buy it Now price for the person that just wants to grab it and enjoy it for a great price.On Jun-08-13 at 10:41:56 PDT, seller added the following information: A bidder asked about the accident listed. My fiancé drove the car home and pulled into the driveway and misjudged the length of the car and pushed into a snowbank which turned out to be ice. It broke the lip spoiler on the front of the car (where the fog lights are located). The lip spoiler had to be replaced with BMW new parts and repainted at a cost of about $2,000. She hasn't driven the car since.On Jun-08-13 at 15:46:58 PDT, seller added the following information: I have answered a few questions directly for bidders (and watchers!) I would also disclose that although Tesla did not offer me a fair trade-in (because they never see the car), BMW inspected and offered me $5,500 for my car in trade-in for a new (or any) $102,445 BMW 650 Gran Sport x Drive at dealer invoice (an additional $5,980 discount) plus a $750 rebate for a total credit of $12,230. I will post the paperwork showing the proposed trade-in. I still liked the Tesla better with no discount! The Reserve is met, I can't believe that someone hasn't pulled the trigger on Buy-It-Now!? You risk losing it on the final bid day!
